imo i found being friends with everyone to be great yeah but sometimes it gets stale little conflict and sometimes i felt like a yes man. Now come da2 i had 2 rivalry paths just cause the felt more "real". Take merrill for example rival her it makes for a strained relationship at first then the romance came it was a explosive burst of feelings that turned out pretty epic imo
finally we have DAI everybody has their beliefs like normal... but they fight for them almost to a fault at times to me it gives them weight, crediblity, and most of all a soul. Personally ive been playing dalish after my canon humi and i want more conflicts, more challenges etc. The RP potential is limitless
Mmh. I would argue that someone not defending their beliefs does not make them less credible. There are plenty of people like that in real life. If anything it's unusual to have so many characters with such strong convictions. Realistically that's the kind of thing that would lead to infighting and splintering within an organization.
The only reason the Inquisitor gets to run the show largely unchallenged is because of their mark. It adds the possibility of a divine intervention in people's minds, so they're not going to gripe too loud or outright challenge the Inquisitor if they don't behave the way they think he/she should.
Take that mark away though? Or better yet, duplicate it? Ooh boy, would there be trouble.
