The thing i dont like about applying realism to fantasy is that it takes the enjoyment out of it for me

It does to an extent for me. But, as I said the realist in me tends to take over. Also, I like sci-fi and fantasy that has realism in it because it to make it makes it more believable. I'm the kind of person who role-plays himself as Commander Shepherd or The Warden rather than going for complete escapism. It's always a case of what would I do or say over picking something that I could never see myself saying or doing.

The only thing that we can do is find some common ground on the subject. I'm also way to sick to engage in a healthy debate at the moment. lol   Bronchopneumonia is no fun, not at all.

I didn't feel that bad for about two days, it just felt like a chest cold. Woke up yesterday and felt pretty good. This morning though, I woke up feeling like I have bubble gum in my lungs. That's probably the most accurate way of describing it. lol

When you fight him in the Council room and you end up crouched at the bottom of the stairs, if you have enough Charm (I think) and you're hella Paragon you can convince him he's already a Reaper slave and that there's only one way to escape their control...

BOOM

I think you have to use the paragon option in his conversation at Virmire also. I could be wrong.

I used to do this as well, but virtually all fictional settings shatter into a million tiny pieces if sufficiently stringent criteria for realism and plausibility are applied. The settings' writers aren't academics; they don't have an in-depth knowledge of history, or anthropology, or physics, or any number of other things. They shouldn't be expected to have such knowledge: because it's not their Thing; because there is a significant cost to acquiring that knowledge and implementing it that would have to come, presumably, at the expense of other things in the game; and because sometimes it can come at the cost of things that are fun.

I didn't subject these things to a microscope because I'm just a b*tch like that; I did it because I cared, deeply, about the setting and the lore of my favorite fictional worlds, and I wanted them to be perfect, or at least close enough as made little difference. Now I don't do that so much anymore - I don't go over the lore with a fine-toothed comb, but I also don't really care as much as I used to.

Ya cant compare our world to Mass effect world . We dont have Asariiiiiiiiii  :crying:

*Ahem*

And I believe they can do it . Maybe not all at once..I'm not an idiot..I know change doesnt come fast and over night...

But more like one stone at a time...but if the base is made...ya can build on it..and the next generation will keep at it..until one day IT WILL happen .

Not saying you are wrong or anything; one step at a time is a good outlook on it. But, you do realise that most of the Krogan are like Wreav, yes? If the Genophage was cured and the Krogan were allowed to breed like normal, the Galaxy would literally crumble beneath Krogan feet. Wrex isn't the only one who doesn't feel like Wreav but he is the only one with enough power to stop the Krogan being who they are. Take Wrex and Wreav out of the equation. Take all the named characters out of the equation. You would still end up with the Krogan outnumbering every other race put together. Remember, the Krogan are bred for war. They evolved purely for that trait.

Yes, the Genophage was bad, but can you think of something else that would have stopped the Krogan from destroying every colony in the Galaxy?

To be honest whenever I see a fantasy series tauted as realistic, it's usually because it's dark as heck, not because it's actually "realistic", and I think that connection between rape/murder/everyone sucks and realism bothers me. I care more about something feeling internally coherent and genuine, which doesn't omit darkness like that, but doesn't require it.

As for Bioware games, I can't roleplay myself, because there are rarely options for what I would do, and I also don't think I know what I'd do in some of those situations anyways. that's why I usually have a better time the second go, because I can make a character who fits the kinda of decisions I'm given.

Hey lovies, storyline plotting question for y'all. I've just gotten the iff (goddamn ship, I died around everyother corner bloody husks. *ahem*) and booted up Legion, who is adorkable. Anyways, the question is, should I go eradicate the geth virus and then go stop the collectors That would make sense, but the journal doesn't tell me where to go first and I'm scared of screwing up.

Okay so, do you want to get spoiled about one of the most important moments in the game?

There isn't a timer exactly, though you are only allowed 1 mission before going through to the end. If everyone else is loyal, use this to do Legions loyalty mission.

It should say on the Galaxy map. There should be a tag or something coming off of the place you need to travel to. Also, the location in question looks like a giant metal ship/crown thing. It's not mistakable but if you need clarification, post a screenshot of it. I remember what it looks like pretty well.

Also, Legion is a bro! Up there with Garrus and Wrex and maybe Javik as my go to bros!

I'm trying to avoid spoilers while still getting the best experience. My whole team is loyal except for Legion who I just picked up and pretty much all the side quests are done.

Just don't go through the red relay next to Omega. That is where the suicide mission begins.

Yes, the Genophage was bad, but can you think of something else that would have stopped the Krogan from destroying every colony in the Galaxy?

Yes...

Ok , here it goes :

1- The Krogan werent Bred for Wars . God..I dont even know where to start with that comment . Ya saying like they were 'made' or 'put in a Lab and trained to be savage' . They were recruited for the war against the Rachni . Wich could have been avoided , if Idiot who found the Relay that led to them decided to stop using it . Or destroy it.....or shoot them up as soon as they come out of it...(wich btw was the Prothean great Wisdom fault lets not forget that!!! how about ya start throwing some blame on the greaaaaaaaaat protheans!) .

2- I do not denie that the Krogan have a tendancie to fight more then any other specie . BUT yes , there is a giant BUT....can the other specie ever claim being always Zen ? I mean look at the Turian war with the Humans!! every specie is prone to violence . The only difference is that the Krogan have numbers . So do the vorcha , and so do the Pirates on the terminus system and slavers and so do the Batarians . Hey ! lets kill all of them..cose at some point they will all go hostile for a reason or another . Pffff....

3- There is one thing ya dont see . And ya know what it is ? the Krogan know what it feel like to frole extinction . Something it seem everyone is taking Lightly . I think they wont throw their life away like they did in the past . And I doubt the breeding will be an issue . If ya are referring to wrex saying 'let breed like mad to catch up ' lets face it !! their number dwelled alot since the genophage and probably even more after the war with the reaper since they make the front troops . So I dont think they are mindless bug that just breed and pick their nose . They want a second chance for their specie , they want a place on the council , and they want a place on the Galaxy . So I think they do have a brain and will know the 'Breed like mad' wouldnt work tis time around and I think they will do it themself and try to control it as best as they could .

4- Yes I can think of something better then the Genophage . The Salarian should Never ever had to tamper with a specie normal cycle of evolving . They played God...and they never paid the price for it . Meaning , when they found the Krogan , if they were so curios...they shouldve helped them learn or something , give them tools to make habitat...not ship and weapons to strike to the sky when they werent ready .

5- Who do ya think enrolled the Krogan in the rachni war ? Ya think the krogan could see the rachni from down their homeworld and sent an email to the salarian asking for a lift and to be signed in the war ??

So there.....

5- Who do ya think enrolled the Krogan in the rachni war ? Ya think the krogan could see the rachni from down their homeworld and sent an email to the salarian asking for a lift and to be signed in the war ??

So there.....

1: The Krogan evolved with the scientific help of the Salarians. They evolved them in a specific way to fight the Rachni. They bred them for war, the same way you breed a dog for specific traits. Once the war with the Rachni was done, you cannot expect those traits to just disappear.

2: The other races don't always claim to be "zen" but they have the capacity to see the bigger picture, which the average Krogan does not. The Krogan see the need to fight above all else. Situation - fight. Outcome - fight some more. That is the average Krogans philosophy.

Races like the Vorcha lack any sense of intelligence and personal safety. They don't understand that if they got together, they would be a pretty strong army. They don't understand that putting an open flame next to a leaking gas pipe is a bad idea, but they do it anyway.

Batarians are like humans. They breed the same way as humans. By all intents and purposes, they are human, only with four eyes. There is no "The Batarians are breeding far to quickly that it could have dangerous repercussions" or anything.

The Pirates of the Terminus aren't a race. You can't quell something that brings together people from every other species. Yes, they are a problem but unless the Council wants to venture into the Terminus systems, nothing will get done about Pirates and Slavers.

3: You are wrong there. The Drell have also faced extinction. There home planet became a wasteland whilst they were still living there. There are less Drell in the Universe than there are people on the Citadel. You are also missing the point. Not all Krogan feel that way. Take Wrex out and you lose any hope of an organised effort. The Krogan want revenge. Without people like Wrex to make them see differently, the Krogan will see revenge as the only form of justice. That is what you are missing.

4: The Krogan were needed because no other race could survive the atmosphere of the Rachni home worlds. Your idea, yes, that would work, but not as fast as the other races of the Galaxy need it to be. The Rachni wars would not have stopped if the Krogan weren't there because the other races could not land on the home worlds. They couldn't get into the nests and kill the Queens. That is fact. Without the Krogan, the Rachni would still be waging there campaign.

So there.....  :P

Nice try...ya brat!!!

1- actually ya are wrong AGAIN . Because if we follow ya exemple..animal that were born in capitivity....should be killed if we can set them free cose they cant adapt . Or animals that were bred a certain way outside of how they shouldve been bred....are totally good for a put down...cose ya know Lab and breeding and whatever !

I actually do expect those traits to dissapear . Your answer is the mirror of the peoples who wouldnt let nature take its natural route..and let thing goes....

Ya just said the Salarian messed up big time when they shouldnt have . The only way to reverse it is to let the Krogan live without anyone interference goddamit . enough with the control freak attitude .

2- No..the krogan dont see like that . And ya know why ? Because....SOMEONE messed them up ! ya go back in time..before the salarian ever showed up..and see if they were the same and couldnt be reasoned with . we talking about 1000 years of Genophage , of many krogan hoping for a cure and being screwed over and over and over.....

If anyone can set them right (and Btw I never said Wrex could change them)..I actually believe the krogan salvation reside in their childrens and the females krogans . I believe they are the one who will bring about change..after the suffering and loss they experienced...

3- The batarians were still dangerous..they may not breed like krogan..but their society make them dangerous..the way they are raised....

4- Again ya are wrong . I believe the female krogan and their childrens..will quell any desire for revenge...especially if they really want a place in the council . But mentality will never change and the krogan will never stop thinking revenge..if stupid Salarian keep spreading taht they are monsters.....everyone gotta help them adapt and find a way to turn the revenge into something more productive......

5- well save for the asari..I for one wouldnt cry if the rachni wiped out the other idiots  GO RACHNIEEEEEEEEEEE!
