I agree with Alexia though, DLC wouldn't solve much about fundamental story issues. An expansion might do something though.

Yeah but..
ya cant compare Aria who is for one Older then Liara . And ya cant compare Jack who was tortured for years to Liara .
Liara is your prodigy born with privilége who goes from genius naive to Matriarch Lvl 2 in Me 2 .
I mean..Liara is a Nerd..and Aria a Thug...ya cant compare that . Each has it charm...its strengh and its weakness...
I don't want to compare them either. I'm just saying she's fundamentally not my type. She's cool for what she is.
I'm just gonna use the word swagger again. Because that's what she's missing. And yes, chicks can have swagger too. Despite what Old Spice tells us.

An expansion Wont....
Just look at DAO..if I find DAO...boring , and like awakening...I can either suffer trough DAO to get the story details right..or start a new charachter in Awakening but everything in DAO...is decided for me..wich isnt a Good Thing !
So...nope . I dont see how that fix the watered down crappy story with a crappy boss...

Well, I think an expansion could help since all the crappy Cory stuff is out of the way. And we could concentrate on the Inquisition itself.. and something more adult, and politically themed. Or just something with more subtlety and intrigue.
But this would take a big story. Not a mere DLC.

Cool. I'll be clearer next time. I'm not saying she isn't likeable. Definitely not in general. It's just about me and my preferences.

well there was a lot i am not going to touch in this catch-up but I will reply to this:
I liked it a lot, it's clever and endearing. Disliked season 1 of Korra a lot but I hear it gets better? I'll get around to it someday, haha. Too much tv, no time.
Season one started strongly but it got terrible. I gave up half way through season 2 and never went back to finish it, but season 3 and 4 were great and won me back as a fan. So yeah it gets better. ^^

I liked the bit where people were trying to argue for their divisive opinion without actually arguing about it.

Lin is a boss. Like right up there on the boss list of bosses.
I thought Jack would've been a much better romance if it didn't operate on the idea that abuse victims need the D to help them overcome past traumas. The difference between a romanced Jack and an unromanced Jack is kind of stark, to the point where her personality shift between ME2 and ME3 is a bit much in the third game unless she was romanced. Unromanced Jack is still basically a b*tchy murderer at the end of ME2 - to jump from that to being a relatively low-key teacher and mentor over the course of six months is kind of a huge deal.
So... according to Mass Effect the two things that can bring stability to a woman's life are penis and bringing up children?

Yeah, you probably can... maybe do just a few extra things in order to get approvals to spots you want... but what do I know, my 2nd playthrough was supposed to be a speed-run and I'm 100 hours in and still going...

I don't think I could bother with it. I'm too obsessive about farming chests and getting precise gear setups.

I didn't start off knowing her that way. She's definitely not my type in ME1. The switch later came too late. And a little forced. She's ruthless, but she doesn't have the swagger of an actual tough chick. Like Aria or Jack or whatnot. It's all in the attitude.
See for me, swagger and attitude are fine, but it's just surface. What's really interesting to me is what's beneath that front. If Jack were just attitude she'd be boring to me. It's the backstory that makes her a compelling character. That's why I don't like Zaeed much; he's just "Generic Badass" and there's not much else there.
Liara starts as a naive academic in some ways, but she also knuckles down and gets on with putting her skills to use in fighting Saren. She sees the threat, sees that she can help and puts herself on the line. Add to that her sense of loyalty is so strong that she's the only one willing to try and recover Shepard's body, while all the others give up and get on with their own lives. She then devotes two years of her life to becoming the best information broker she can be, just in order to rescue her friend. It's not a forced attitude shift, it's a further demonstration of her compassion and loyalty and a different application of the dedication it takes to become a top class academic. Also remember that her career as an archaeologist wasn't exactly a safe one. She goes out to digs on possibly hostile planets, and mentions having had to use her biotics to defend herself. I'm sure she could've chosen a much safer career path had she wanted to. So yeah... "Fragile" is one of the last words I'd use to describe Liara, even as we meet her in ME1.

I want to give Zaeed more credit than that.
You gotta take into account that humans are still newcomers in space. Put him in that context and he's more than generic badass. He's been surviving all this time, among some of the worst crowds in the Terminus. He's ****** crazy. And his survival has required him to stoop so low that he's become very sadistic. He doesn't even think twice about cutting Krogan headplates and such.. It's all a joke to him...he doesn't even know how sick that is.
edit: And just to add, his loyalty mission kind of taps into this. Where we're given a chance to rescue him from this mentality or give into his brand of survival..

Yeah but he's just... We know that he started a merc band, and that he did lots of badass merc stuff and was double crossed and all that, but we know nothing of why he got into that life in the first place. It's just stories of all the ruthless crap he's done, and I don't find that particularly compelling.

There's more than one kind of tough. I'd like to see more depictions of women fighters who don't constantly radiate aggression.
Not that I'd really count Liara, she's got this funny Indiana Jones thing going on.

That part isn't that cool, I'll agree.
I just think..... Well, ME2 has a lot of themes about survival and evolution. Miranda has her own themes on it. Jack represents something about it. Grunt kind of does, for his own people. Mordin is always going on about it. And Collectors are hounding Shepard for these reasons too. I think Zaeed also taps into these themes, for reasons I mentioned above. He's adopted a ruthless attitude for the sake of survival. So the interesting question for me is whether his take on life really necessary for humans to thrive? Or can we find another way for him (and Shepard)?
