I don't know if I've posted this or not but this is when they were real puppies.
The more you post pictures of your dogs, the more I want to rush out and buy a dog. It's a good thing I have strong self control, because my apartment manager would be pissed if I brought home a dog. lol
So I've been thinking more. Sera's prejudices against the Dalish seem to be experiential, not philosophical; she doesn't seem to believe that the Dalish are inferior, so much as she's seen several be unpleasant to her and has thus expanded that to all Dalish. And it seems logical to me that having a Dalish friend/lover should soften this, yes? As it's a new experience that can counteract the previous bad one?
If you feared a group of people, and then by some circumstance, you got chatting with someone who was part of that group, is that going to change your view on the group or just on the one person?

I disagree. I think it's both. She's had problems with individual arrogant Dalish, but also she dislikes the very idea of setting up elves as different. She wants a society in which all are treated equally, and Dalish separatism and isolationism don't fit in well with that, for her.

I suspect you are correct, that seems to fit her attitude.

True, but the thing is that equality is a process. My PC isn't an isolationist, but she is for the idea of raising elves and using their identity as a means to do so because trying to raise them up with nothing just isn't going to work.

No, she doesn't hate dogs. She just doesn't like animals in the house. Oh, and she hates cats.
No pets allowed in our apartment, either.

A buddy of mine is selling English Bulldog puppies. I made the mistake of visiting them earlier today. It was tough not leaving with one. I just don't want to lose my apartment.

How does your apartment management work? Like, does the landlord live in the apartment with you and you rent a room or, does the landlord make random visits or...? I'm just trying to figure out a way you could smuggle a dog into your home and the landlord would be none the wiser.

Not going to chance it. Once you have an eviction on your records it makes getting into another apartment pure hell. About the only other places you will be able to rent are apartments that you would never want to live in. That and my neighbors are nosy. I got into a yelling match with one because he thought he could stand right outside my apartment door so that he could eavesdrop on me a couple of times. I shoved him against the wall the 3nd time he did it. Because I don't take people invading my privacy lightly. Also the first time he pulled that crap, I took the issue up with my landlord and my landlord made it a point to talk to him in the hallway loud enough so I could hear him do it while I was in my apartment.

Could go either way, tbh. I mean if Quizzie took Sera to her clan and that was an okay experience, that might help? I mean, it is partially a philosophical one, because Sera percieves them as backwards thinking and isolationist, so if clan Lavellan ran contrary to that, she might see them differently. Honestly, I think it would take a lot of time and exposure, not just one person who seems to defy it.

Well, I had been planning on it, to have my Inquisitor return to Wycome with her... but DAI's romances are just so disappointing if you ever want to look beyond the surface of anything, because there's really not very much there.

i think she could change abt that over time. people often do, especially about identity issues they have when they're young. i don't think she "needs" to or anything, but one would hope her views on the dalish would at least become more nuanced, if not extremely positive, if she's dating lavellan.

I think she certainly could change, not only with a Lavellan, but with any Inquisitor given a few years' worth of experience operating at her side within a post-Coryphinus Inquisition. Sadly given the time-frame of the game, we've no real opportunity to see that happen.

See, this is why DA2 was better: you could see people develop as characters. DAI doesn't give the same opportunity.
