There have been a couple of exceptions. Sheogorath in Oblivion and Serana in Skyrim come to mind.
I wasn't big on either, but I'll give the benefit of the doubt. They have their fans.
In that game, I like Paarthurnax the most.

I loved Serana but it felt that her story was too short. Once you're done the Vampire bit she's just another "yes" or "no" drone following you around. I really wanted more from her since the little bit I got was marvelous. Honestly that whole dlc with the Vampires is my favorite part of Skyrim! Especially the part where you have to get the bow in the temple complex. Amazing stuff!

I think the things they do the best is just telling a story with props and environment.. Like wandering around and then seeing a dead body.. following the trail .. and finding more slaughtered people. It's like a crime scene, but you're never told the story. You just explore.. until you meet the madman responsible..
This is the real open world experience that DAI doesn't do well.

Like wandering into an ice cave and seeing dead bodies stuck in the ceiling?
Goddamn easter eggs.

That is where Bethesda really shines. They are really good at 'show, don't tell'. There is one particular sidequest in Skyrim that involves a light house and it is incredibly effective (if scary. big surprise at the end).
In DAI the strongest part is the characters. The story is ok, but the world... Meh.
Whenever I've seen him interact with fans I've always been a little uncomfortable by how churlish he can be. Maybe he's lovely in person and that's just his online persona.
To be fair it doesn't take much to p*ss off those Tumblerinas, I really wish that site was nuked from orbit. I heard he had to delete his account in the finish, smart move.

Oh, I don't read tumblr except for Pretty Little Liars theories. I meant here on the bsn.

I think I remember that lighthouse. The one where the family moved to settle down and found spiders or something?

I rather like Tumblr but then I am not there for the fandom nuttiness or the political rants from right or left. There's tons of other stuff on Tumblr. ![]()

And BSN is far worse or equally as bad.

That's the one. Except that they found chaurus and Falmer. The final room in that dungeon. *shudder*

Disagreed. BSN has more potential than Tumblr.

I don't disagree. Part of it is I don't really trawl the fandom sites on Tumblr like you guys do. I run a vintage blog that gets very smutty sometimes and I follow other vintage rnr, comics, fashion, erotica blogs. I don't really pay any attention to the gamer blogs or the political ones so I don't see what you guys see. I see nice things. ![]()

Pretty much. PLL boards are a safe place.
I've always hated the BSN acronym.
(Sorry, fashionista Dazzle, hopefully the style analogy is understandable.)
More gaming discussions need to involve fashion analogies.
I'd argue that Inquisition is more Assassin's Creed than any other influence though, and that neither AC or Skyrim are amazing ensembles.
Of course compared to the Bullies, Shitheads and Ne'er-do-wells elsewhere on this site, this thread is a Bucolic Synergistic Nirvana... ![]()

Fashion terminology. He's tying into my analogy. ![]()

Oh wait, that must be a fashion term. I'm totally out of it.

It's just a fancy word for outfit. We're being slightly superior.

Strictly speaking it's anything viewed as a group, usually musicians I think. Also the name of the developer responsible for Age of Empires.

Classic BSN was the best, miss the original site, friends newsfeed, the older moderators, gif avatars etc.

can also be used to describe a movie cast as well.
