How does Sera not look like an elf?

I personally didn't like the elf designs in DA2. Very happy they are moving away from that. As for Sera looking like a dwarf, I don't see it - the ears kind of give it away, if you ask me.

I think the 'problem' is that her face is round rather than angular. And she has a button nose rather than a pointed one. And she has short hair instead of long. And... really this whole thing is silly.

So it would seem. Elves are typically portrayed as gifted archers as a matter of course.

Least you can confess Bioware should had this freaking done by now. Retconning in absurdum like they done with this series is a bit to much. What was wrong with the old elven? I liked the tall, slender, odd shaped alien like elfs of DA2. Why change them again to these...yeah well if I say something negative someone will cry.

I like the DA2 elves.  Some do, some don't.  I guess more people, or at least more people on the creative team for Inquisition, didn't like them so much in the end and they decided to change them again.  Because they can.  Because it's their game.  I suspect that most people are happy about that, or at least not unhappy.

The defense of a fictional character when someone find it oddly off is not silly aswell then? More argue in here over this stupid character than there is about other things, like day one DLC or something.

I dunno... in DA:O, they had +2 magic and willpower, but no dexterity bonus.  I don't think they are especially gifted with bows...

We know that there is no day 1 DLC, why would we debate that?

Third game in, third change. By now they should have the design down. In the first game even. Retcons are never fun and ruin immersion. This is what I find pretty bad. Im very pointy about these things. I do think such a thing should already been set in stone and not open for changes this far in. It is like changing the Whills (yodas race) suddenly in episode 7 cause it "fits the new directors vision better". No, simply no. You do not do that.

Could everybody please stop feeding this absolutly pointless argument before this thread gets locked? The first time I've entered the freaking Sera thread and it's about a fight, that has to do with the perception of how the races in inquisiton should look, even though it's clear they'll look different because of the new engine, Races differentiate between each other because of their bodies, too, actually. Not just their faces. Geez.

It is not about the engine, It is about Bioware being either incompetent or not knowing what to do with the overall design of the elfs. I believe so atleast.

 

But your topic change. I do not think they presented any form of information on the relationship between the characters yet, right? I think we have to find out some of these things in game instead.

I haven't heard anything about it. Sera is a city girl and Solas is about as wild as an elf can get. I think she might be confused by him, what with his dream walking. She is materialistic, he most definitely is not.

It wasn't mentioned (that I know of) but I'm curious, too. My guess would be that Solas probably will find Sera a bit "loud", but I don't think they'll clash, either.

*face palm* since when does a game not come with pre order dlc? my god its just some weapons, armor, a throne, a digital soundtrack and some mounts, no one really cares on missing out on that kind of DLC, its the story add on's and companion day 1 DLC that people don't like

No idea, but I hope they get along well.  I plan on having the two of them in my Dalish Inquisitor's party pretty regularly.  If they argue a lot, that would to ruin it for me... but they both seem pretty chill from what little info I've seen, so that seems very unlikely.
