I am not buying the game as it looks right now. Not after Dragon Age II. But since Dragon Age is the "official spiritual successor" to another series I loved and held dearly in my childhood, Baldurs Gate, I find myself entitled to point out my opinion of this mess of a series.

....

So basically you are just here to ******?  Don't you have something you actually enjoy that you could be doing instead?  I don't understand why you are spending this time on something you don't like and won't be playing.

I'm not trying to make you go away... I just don't get why you are dedicating this time to something you clearly don't actually like all that much.  It's odd.

I've been wondering which of my inquisitors I should be romancing Sera with, which ofc made me curious about the type of inquisitor those of you who will be romancing Sera are planning to use. Like, why this particular race and personality? Why does this combo appeal to you?

Cause I loved Baldurs Gate, Dragon Age Origins was decent and then we got Dragon Age 2 and now  this action oriented successor. I love Mass Effect but Dragon Age 2 and this are to much of Shepard in a fantasy setting.

In my opinion, the perfect deal for Bioware would be with one series being a spin off

So Dragon Age II is Dragon Age I and Dragon Age Inquisition is Dragon Age II

While Dragon Origins is a series of its own, focusing on giving us more lore of the world, Origins being in a new country in each spin off (sequal) and being more old school Baldurs Gateish like Dragon Age Origins was.

I'll be romancing Sera with Revas, my Dalish rogue (?). She's pretty staunchly anti-human, so she wouldn't want to shack up with anyone but another elf.

DA2 did give us more lore, and was set in a new country.

If she is not race-gated (we're still in the dark about the race gates, aren't we?), I was thinking a Qunari warrior. A serious, no nonsense Qunari. I like the idea of someone reigning in her enthusiasm a little, while also offering protection. Sera has a nervous disposition if the demos we've seen so far are any indication.

Was Sera's relationship towards Solas mentioned? What she thinks of him and all that, I mean. I'm curious since they're both elves and such...

I don't think so. I'm not certain how she would react to Solas, who seems to be a self-taught mage who may not identify with his elven heritage. I wouldn't be surprised if the FoRJ had some encounters with the Mages Collective, so it may not be too jarring for her to encounter an apostate.

I think Sera would find Solas to be insanely boring

He seems to be a character very much based on thought and theory, she's very much a character based on action and instinct. I'm almost certain that the two of them will avoid each other for the most part. :P.

I do not mean it cannot give more lore. But it did not give in my opinion an entertaining story and to much focus on action. off topic but yes, I did not like their try to widden the audience and doing so, failing at making the game good.

Nothing mentioned yet, but I think it could be interesting....  They backgrounds are so different they might have trouble relating to each other, which means we could get some scenes where they struggle to find, and then find, common ground.

On the other hand, they might really be way too different to get along at all!

The defense of a fictional character when someone find it oddly off is not silly aswell then? More argue in here over this stupid character than there is about other things, like day one DLC or something.

You seemed to skip my inquiry, however....

And in doing so continued to be argumentative in doing so.  Care to answer my question?

I'm thinking about romancing her with a human warrior. I'd like to do elf, but Sera hates nature stuff and my Dalish Inquisitor will be pretty... well, Dalish.

i don't think so either, but you never know.

On another note, I wonder if Sera will tattle about the relationship and give TMI or if she'll keep close-mouthed about it. I'm inclined to believe the former. :D

I'm playing a qunari female. Female because I like playing women, qunari because they're tall.

Everything else is in the air. I don't even know if I'll romance Sera; I'll go with whatever seems good when I'm playing.

You know, since I'll be playing as a male Dalish mage, that isn't going to be an option, but I hope the two can be friends, and find some common ground about the plight of the elves. Her initial artwork at the bar made me think she seemed like a really fun character (especially the 'gesture' and the laughter that ensued from everyone but Cassandra). I do wonder if that could mean she might romance someone else, similar to how Fenris and Isabela pursued a sexual interest in one another. Perhaps Sera might wind up with Josephine.

How does Sera not look like an elf?

Oh I found it.

In my opinion she have more the raw look of a dwarf. Very round face. short hair, the nose is pretty large. The dark makeup (around her eyes) almost makes her look like someone who been down a mine and smeared charcoal around here eyes. Why she would have that is beyond me but im not one to decide whats fashion and not in this realm. Also looking at her jaw now, it is pretty strong. Not far from Cassandras. If we look at Merrills from DA2 which is more point and angular this one is more strong and masculine. The lips are also big and heavy. To me she would fit better as a dwarf. One crazy anarcho dwarf.

I usually play straight male characters because I guess that's what I'm comfortable with.  I often think "I'll go back and play that again with a female character" (especially Mass Effect) but I never have.  So I thought this time I'd actually play the female character from the start.  Considering my tendency to play sarcastic 'paragon' types who try to bring everyone together to save the world/galaxy, that would seem to make Sera the obvious choice!

So obvious, in fact, that I might not do it!

Going f/f feels a little like a "male player cop-out" so I might just go where the interest takes me.
