It's only an issue when a troll or negative Nancy makes it and issue, even than the issue isn't that this thread goes off topic. It an issue with someone trolling the thread or being overly negative. Because of this its an issue with a individuals behavior, not the thread going off topic.

Keep our current M.O but make it clearer to everyone outside the thread what this thread is about.

 

I like the off topic discussions. They are fun. They are interesting. They've helped me with some projects.   This thread is a nice place for people to just chill and chat. Why should it change how it runs to cater to those who just want to post one thing?

I came here because I was interested in Sera. I'd been lurking on BSN since DAO and had a similar post count to the OP of that complaining thread. I stayed because I liked the vibe here. That's why I still stay...

The game is very worth it. The art style is amazing. The story is amazing. The characters are amazing. The soundtrack is amazing. Everything is amazing.

I reckon it would deal with either Blackwall or Iron Bull.

 

Blackwall, his history as Thom Rainer and his eventual meeting with the actual Blackwall. I could see it ending with him picking up Blackwalls sword.

 

Iron Bull, his history with the Qunari and his eventual need to go into the re-educaters (I think that's what they are called.)

 

With THE WALL, yes... I can imagine that.

It starts with the infamous Rainier Ambush - the very act that made him change.

Then, he'd meet the actual Blackwall. The DLC would end with THE WALL coming up from the Deep Roads entrance, seeing Blackwall die, and swearing to take up the mantle.

 

With Bull, either the fighting in Seheron, and himself eventually turning in to the Ben Hassrath reeducators (I imagine that would go along the lines of "Hey, reeducator, I can't do what the Qun wants me to do anymore. Fix me up.") - or alternatively his "undercover" work on the continent, and the DLC would end with him saving Krem.

 

You could make it funny if you had Sera scampering around Denerim and every now and then the big boots of the Hero of Ferelden dash past. But yeah I might be hard to pull off and an easier route would be to have it set in the present and maybe have only some of it told by flashbacks. Maybe have Sera discover and old orphanage buddy still lives and may still be in danger then it could be set in the now but have some flashback material.

 

It would be fun to see Sera as a cute little elf kid.

Besides, we could do a very young Sera, just when she started going with the Jennies. The DLC would start with her meeting the man who used to be Denerim's Red Jenny. Then, she'd do regular Jenny stuff, and the DLC could end with her being in the Jenny hideout, a knock on the door, and she'd be handed a small painted box.

 

Sera's origins, a Warden cameo, and more light on the Red Jennies, all in one go.

 

With Dorian and Vivienne, I get the sense that they will be far more dialogue oriented with very little combat involved. That's not a bad thing but it would mean that half the fan base that prefers combat wouldn't get as much out of the DLC. Of course, that's my opinion. I can't see it working, whereas others might. I can say though that the stories would be pretty cool.

 

Dragon Age is about storytelling. As I recall, even Leliana's Song (which had more combat than story, IMHO) was about Leliana's history as a bard.

 

So tempted to post this in that thread.

Ah, great game, that.

 

Maybe a bit more story would be good, but, uh...

 

Oh, well.

 

The only problem I had in the end was how Lara was genuinely spooked by the fact she just killed a man in cold blood, yet not twenty minutes later, she began something akin to a bloody genocide of the island's inhabitants. And guilt because just a word, flying in the wind somewhere on the other side of the island.

Yes, yes, survival and all that, but... The game never really shows the fact it weighs on her, beyond that one time she calls Roth on the radio. For all I know, she sounds HAPPY to kill them towards the end of the game, and not in a "You or me" way.

 

Then again, her being happy about the deaths of so many bogeys would be perfectly in line with my own feelings while playing the game.
