The only shooter series i play consistently is halo and maybe gears of war when im bored most my gaming collection is rpg hack n slash, action adventure and card games

Same. Although not so much the horror games. Most of them look really silly to me. Although I did really like Betrayer from a year or two ago. 

Yup. Horror just doesn't do anything for me as a genre, in movies or games... I used to play a lot of FPS games but I just got bored of them. RPG and strategy are mostly what float my boat these days.

I think Doom II was my very first fps, one that I enjoyed immensely. *nostalgic sigh*

It's worth checking out these days. A few years back id Software released the source code for doom and doom 2. So the doom community made utilities that remove any hard coded limitations the game had. Such as number of monsters in a level,  how many sectors you can have in a map and limits on height variation. Because of this maping for Doom has jumped forward. I'd go a far as saying that in terms of level design and aesthetics, Doom mappers are blowing modern fps games out of the water.

I am working my way slowly thru Total War: Atilla and these BioWare games and looking forward to POE later this month. I don't like zombie survivalist stuff and a lot of horror games I see are of that ilk.

 

This one was genuinely good though in terms of horror and indie:

Silent Hill 2, System Shock 2 and Eternal Darkness are my favorite horror games. I do like the early RE titles, but I never felt the need to replay them again.

I would like to clarify, The Last of Us is not a zombie game. The "zombies" as people refer to them, are not dead. They are still alive. The people can feel the fungus growing out of them.

semantics the fungus its based on does create "zombies" among ants

But they aren't dead. This is the absolute critical point you seem to be missing, my good man. *clears throat* THEY AREN'T DEAD!  :P

 

Also, NaughtyDog even stated during development that they aren't zombies and that they weren't making a zombie game so... they aren't zombies.  :lol:

But jokes aside i aknowledge the distiction but dismissing it due to chem known to create zombie like states. Merely adding to why its classifield as such.... truly a glorious fungus
