Makes it even more difficult to play an elf that either doesn't believe or is having doubts when you have elves talking in your head.
Dani says it better than I could and just did.

All I need now is a suspicious looking van in primer grey....
But if you're romancing Sera you cannot justify giving a dishonest answer to her when she gives you the question. If you want to drink from the pool as an elf then don't romance her. That's just my two cents and the point is certainly debatable. I really don't want to though, lol.
I actually marginally prefer it that way, because it's blatantly obvious that Sera couldn't possibly expect you to be sincere.

I'd wondered, given your posts, if you'd picked up on that yet. ![]()
oh so paranoidIt's water from strangers.
uh...I'll drink from it as an elf. In that case, the knowledge is rightfully mine.
Yep. I let Morrigan drink when I did the romance with Sera as an elf. Made that ending so much better than it is if you drink.
I didn't trust Morrigan with the knowledge - it hadn't been nearly long enough since she came to Skyhold, and the only thing she had done to try and gain my trust since then was showing me what the Eluvians were capable of - so my elf drank it. It helped, when Sera confronted me about it, that Whisper had never been sure whether any gods actually existed. Sure, she could hear the voices in the Well, but that doesn't prove it's gods.
So when forced to choose between the possibility of maybe the elven gods existing and the woman she loves, saying "It could all be nonsense" wasn't exactly a leap for her.

I didn't want anyone to drink from it. The whole thing was too good to be true.

I still dislike it, in large part because I don't know if that contrast was deliberate or just a writing flub, and the Inquisitor is supposed to be sincere when saying that.
uh...
What? It's the knowledge of my people.

I don't have a problem with looking at it that way. If you're rp'ing in a pure way it's a given that your quiz has no past with Morrigan and very little reason to trust her. Leliana whom you've known longer does not appear to approve of her and neither does Vivienne (although Viv would be enough of a reason to make me side with Morrigan).
long as we can do what i intend i dont mindI didn't want anyone to drink from it. The whole thing was too good to be true.

Seriously though, I just find it more interesting to be on the receiving end of that power. Whatever that may be and however my role may shift.
And if I end up without any role at all, that's cool too. That would mean my Inquisitor found some peace and quiet.

Given how Solas feels about the Dalish and their understanding of the old elves there is a point here that it might not be the earned right of the Dalish despite pointy ears.
well in 3months(possibly) you'll see if it bites ya in the arseSeriously though, I just find it more interesting to be on the receiving end of that power. Whatever that may be and however my role may shift.

Yup... I was gonna like this, but ran out.
Seems like this (or rather, solas) would be the first thing to address.

Why not?

It doesn't matter. Our quest is for knowledge, and I refuse to let that slip away. If Solas would try to take this away from us, he's a damned hypocrite about Dalish forgetfulness.
agreed nobody should have it maybe abelas was right in a way.... and i say this a magical preservationistGiven how Solas feels about the Dalish and their understanding of the old elves there is a point here that it might not be the earned right of the Dalish despite pointy ears.
Even without drinking from the well, Tressa was sure by that stage that the elven gods were real powerful magical beings, but she'd lost all inclination to worship them and she didn't want their power. She was pretty certain that they weren't demons, but she wasn't about to let that bone of contention get in the way of her relationship with Sera.

I don't think they're demons.... some might as well be something like it though. Andruil? Sounds like a good person who became corrupted... by mistake.
has to... i need to know what happened to my role modelYup... I was gonna like this, but ran out.

well that pride you have is a good indicator why... but think of it like this "monkey owns a fruit tree but is allergic to it and eats from it turns out it the tree encroaches on your yard to the point of annoyance" should he have it despite reprucussionsWhy not?

There's too much potential for me to turn it down.

She in particular was corrupted after hunting evil (or the Forgotten Ones). It sounds like she did good things. Spending too much time in the void screwed her up. I don't know anything from myth like that though. It's like if Artemis became corrupted.

I think there's a stronger argument to be made that the well belongs to all of Thedas and to all of the inhabitants. It's long since past being the preserve of one group and a group that's remote from it's forebears to the point of not having much in common with them at all really. It's the reason Morrigan does not want the elf to destroy the well. It's sort of like saying the pyramids belong solely to the present people of Egypt. Yes and no, really. They may be located there but they are important to all of mankind and human society and development. Modern Egypt is the custodian but they better take damn good care of it.
