There's too much potential for me to turn it down.
Still that line of thinking could be a very slippery slope.

aha "potential" is a double edge'd sword.. what you'd perceive as "good" could very well lead to "bad" and more damage than what you intend to doThere's too much potential for me to turn it down.

I think there's a stronger argument to be made that the well belongs to all of Thedas and to all of the inhabitants. It's long since past being the preserve of one group and a group that's remote from it's forebears to the point of not having much in common with them at all really. It's the reason Morrigan does not want the elf to destroy the well. It's sort of like saying the pyramids belong solely to the present people of Egypt. Yes and no, really. They may be located there but they are important to all of mankind and human society and development. Modern Egypt is the custodian but they better take damn good care of it.
Absolutely not. The humans have done absolutely nothing to earn any of this, and I don't see the dwarves or qunari having contributed much to the reconstruction of elven culture either. This is ours, the culmination of a small part of the quest for knowledge.
im looking for a tale that can helpShe in particular was corrupted after hunting evil (or the Forgotten Ones). It sounds like she did good things. Spending too much time in the void screwed her up. I don't know anything from myth like that though. It's like if Artemis became corrupted.

Given the religious and cultural influence that the historical elven empire had on Thedas I beg to disagree. It is important to all cultures and not just the elves.

Actually, it belongs to the ancient Elves. The Dalish contributed nothing to that pool of knowledge, so they have no right to it. Being the same species does not make you entitled to their knowledge. It's a completely different culture.
It would be like me finding an ancient library in France and claiming I had a right to it because I have French ancestry. It's more complicated than that.
again its not yours it belongs to everyone if it belongs to anybody its the sentinalsAbsolutely not. I'm happy to say it's for Elves..
but this whole time, Flemeth couldn't care less about racial issues it seemed.

I think that knowledge belongs, if to anyone, to the Dalish, first. It's their history. I mean the sentinels guard it...why? Maybe if I had a better reason for "why we must keep this information away from the people we enslaved" than "they're not pure or smart enough for it", I'd understand? It's not that humans shouldn't know it, it's that making a human be the vessel of it is kind of gross. Not that I think anyone who chose their Quizzie or Morrigan is gross, I don't play elves as much so I usually pick Morrigan, just that the idea it's the only choice unless you play Lav is annoying to me. I honestly would have rather destroyed it or preserved it somehow and beaten Cory without it. But that's not how it went, so shrug. It just frustrates me, it's my least favorite choice on the game.
And all this time, one of their own goddesses was physically human too.
Just saying. I don't really care. Less power for my Inquisitor, the better.
well im of the ideal it it belongs to every and the knowledge must be shared for the benefit of all not just elves or humans, dwarves, qunari, but everyone. But in practice... i think it belongs to the sentinals more because they guarded it for millenium, fought for it, died for it and from what was implied added to it. If they wanted to destroy it sad as it is it was their right to do so and protect what past they had and prevent it from being mutated by mundane hands to fit "convient" truths.and you say this because? really i'm curious.

Solas is a hypocrite, that's a huge part of his character, IMO. He still has a good point, especially knowing what he does. Some knowledge should stay lost, perhaps, but it's not his choice to make, so blergh.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CRIM. :DD
JW, so you like the new Thor run? I haven't checked it out. The only Asgard book I read right now is Loki: Agent of Asgard, but I was thinking of adding the Angela book because I love Kieron Gillen.
I really do like it. It really turns the whole series on it's head and there have been plenty of really cool moments that will have you scratching your head in disbelief. Thor was getting pretty stale before it started and I had stopped reading awhile ago. The new series pulled me back in. At this point I'm honestly hoping she gets to keep the hammer/powers for the long haul.

My male Trev took it because all his choices in the game were to further his power. He was selfish and cruel and spoiled. No way would a character like that step aside for Morrigan.

Some things should be hidden from those without the foresight to know what they do..
Mind you im a cultural/magical preservationist... so my belief may be odd
Qunari wouldn't care to preserve it. The culture, I mean. To them, magic is one thing. Danger. Saarebas = dangerous thing.
