The story takes place after the last game and spans 25 years. Jax also has a daughter, Kung Lao's younger cousin is a playable character, and Kenshi's son (who's also Scorpion's apprentice) is also playable along with Kenshi

Glad to hear things are a bit better, Xil. Agreed with JW, when you're that low/depressed/self loathing, your mind tells you that you're not worth anything, so any effort expended on your behalf seems like something you don't deserve....in that mindset especially, asking for help is extremely difficult. Hopefully as things get more stable for her she'll realize how distorted that thinking is.

Indeed. I just don't want the guilt to compound matters.
That is indeed a pretty major issue; she calls herself a parasite more times than seems healthy.
Trust me, I know. But, that's why you need to talk to her about continuing to seek help when she has calmed down enough to listen. I know all about living in a mental and emotional pit, because I did for years. I took a lot of convincing to seek help and much more to continue working through it when I did. I still have a ways to go, but I'm much better than I was before. If you knew me in my middle school and high school days you would have seen someone hell bent on walking a path of self destruction. Without help I doubt I would have seen the age of thirty or lived long enough to graduate from high school.

Thanks for everyone's kind words/thoughts. The guilt problem has been a chronic one for as long as I've known her, but if she does start to get better therapy, her accumulated baggage will hopefully fade eventually...

As for fighting games. I love King of Fighters, Tekken, Killer Instinct, the VS games and Samurai Showdown. Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat are great but none of the games after SF 2: Turbo and MK 2 have really grabbed me. Most Street Fighters after Turbo are too slow and Mortal Kombat stopped being fun when you can run-combo spam people. Though I will be giving MK X a shot because it does look like a lot of effort is going into bringing back the old school feel of the games while mixing in the more modern MK's.

It's hard to deal with guilt over your existence. I grew up in an abusive household and I internalized that kind of stuff, and I wouldn't say it's gone away, but I've gotten a lot better at going "that thought is distorted, it is not reality, you have value and the right to exist and have your own desires" and stop them before they compound or lash outwards.
