This is the same E3 Demo that also didn't have a single straight character in it, since Sera and Dorian are gay and Iron Bull and Leliana are bi.
You can have Alistair executed.
Vivienne was in the demo, but we don't know what her sexuality is, and Alistairs death is conveniently off screen where as Leliana and Zevrans death are both extremely violent and carried out by the player.

First you can kill everyone (as in all the companions) that's not Alistair and Morrigan on screen in DAO. Just get them to -100. Second Zevran attempts to kill the PC. The PC being able to kill him as a reaction is hardly unreasonable. Leliana does the same and she's gets a rez.

Wow. Just wow. Sometimes it's really hard to not be insensitive. Anyways. Sera is cool.
/smoke pellet
And yet we conveniently have the opportunity to outright murder a potential gay companion in Origins, and have never once had any kind of option like that for the straight main quest companions.
Again, I'm not saying Bioware did this out of any kind of Malice, they just did it because it probably never even crossed their minds it would be abused or viewed as horrible, which is why bringing it up to them is important.
Being able to kill queer companions while the straight companions don't ever get placed in those positions of potential death by player choice is crappy.
It probably never crossed their minds because the character's sexual orientation doesn't really matter in the instances were you kill Zevran, Anders, and Leliana(?)

I don't count Vivienne since we don't know what orientation she is. In fact, there is a 2/3 chance she is not straight.
Also you can kill Sten, Oghren, Wynne, and Loghain who are all straight in just as violent means.
Never played that game but that sounded awful. Hope your joypad survived the crash against the wall, I'm sure I would have flung mine anyway or at least a shoe.
To be fair, you're not meant to take the gold bars in Dead Money.

Hehehehe. I managed to sneak out with all of them. Sneak build for the win!

By the time I reached the end of DM I just wanted it to be over (loved the writing and the characters, hated the gameplay) so I didn't even bother trying to grab the gold.

Nor should it matter, it's a poor excuse for a whine. Anders actions always lead me to kill him, what he did was terrorism and didn't help his cause, his sexuality shouldn't even come into play here. Zevran is an assassin who tries to kill you the second you meet him, we don't even know by then that he is bisexual as for Leliana bringing her to the Ashes just to defile them is uber insensitive and her reaction is hardly surprising. Bioware are really good to the LGBT community IMO, I'm thankful they cater to us as much as they do no-one else does really.
And you can kill Alistair at the Landsmeet so pivotal straight characters can die just as easily as queer ones. We also know that not all the characters will make it out alive at the end of DAI so Sera dying in that scene was more than likely due to poor choices made in that run up to that point, not because she is gay and therefore ripe for the axe.
And let's not forget the guys who killed Anders just because he hit on them.
...Or maybe we should forget, for peace of mind.
I never really understood why some people made a big deal about a man making a pass at them. I mean, I thought it was badly placed to have Anders flirt with the protagonist right after Karl's death (it really should have taken place at least another companion quest or two afterwards, in my humble opinion) and getting rivalry if you turned him down came across more like disapproval (which happened a bit, like with the scene where Hawke tells Fenris he approves of slavery), but Isabela also makes a pass at the main character, and hardly as many people had an issue with that.

I agree with this completely.
As a point of interest, three of the characters with plot armour are Isabela, Leliana and Anders (until the end of DA2) - two bisexual women and a bisexual man. Morrigan is the only straight character in Origins/Awakening I can think of with plot armour.
EDIT:
And as for the 'Sera is killed in the demo' rumour/controversty/thing the companions shown in that demo were Iron Bull (pan), Sera (lesbian) and Dorian (gay). As Crimson said, her death/being knocked out/whatever is to do with the choices made in that senario, not because she's gay.

That's because girl on girl is hot!TM
Seriously though, guys who freak out over another guy coming on to them are extremely insecure. I've observed that in a lot of LPs: if there is female nudity, a lot of male gamers go whoohoo! Boobs! Male nudity? They react like someone poured acid in their eyes.
I found one happy (and hilarious) exception though: this guy was talking about rumors that a certain video game character was gay and went off on a tangent that went like this: I have nothing against gay people. A lot of my friends are gay. Well, not a lot of them, but some... none that would want to sleep with me I don't think... Well maybe they do.... Do gay people find me sexy? Tell me! Tell me!
Hehehehe. I managed to sneak out with all of them. Sneak build for the win!
That's pretty good; my Courier only managed to take three or four bars (as it was a blind run and I didn't know about the 'trick' to escape; Elijah was trapped with the rest of the gold. I guess Veronica and Christine could make use of it to establish their own version of the Brotherhood of Steel (they reunite in my headcanon, because I doubt the Ghost People told Christine about the two Couriers meeting in the Divide).

Oh man, I so wanted them to ge back together! I discovered the gold bar trick later and needed a few tries, but I did it! Some might call it cheating, but my character was based on science, sneak and survival (unarmed and explosives for weapons. nasty!). Of course she was an opportunistic b****.
Take flirting as a compliment no matter the party in question or what you fancy -- It's a good thing and can potentially boost confidence and ones self-esteem. Flirting is after all just that -- Flirting and it's up to one self whether it's gonna go anywhere or not instead of being seen as something degrading when it comes from the same sex.

The straight dudes that lose their **** over that are most definitely in the minority.

Thankfully, lol. I've actually only seen one person bring up that ancient compliant since I've started posting here again, and they had the typing skills of a 10 year old so I just assume it's the less mature audience...

Wait, what?

I never heard Bioware say that no matter what happens, some companions will die.

Not too long ago Mike Laidlaw said something about it being possible to finish the game with only a single surviving companion remaining, which might be interpreted as an indication that all companions can die over the course of the game at one point or another.
Either way, it's completely normal. Wouldn't be the first time for sure.

I think Crim was just assuming it to happen.

Ah, okay. Them saying that we know that got me nervous. But if it is like ME2 where they all can die but also can all live then I'll be fine with that.
