There's hardly anything deep or impressive in what your asking for. It's just as one dimensional.

Damn it Storm. You almost aced it.

Learn the difference between "you're" and "your". This is second-grade stuff.

Technically, driving people from the thread would be unnecessary. All it really takes is the topic veering in this direction long enough for a mod to notice and simply shut it down.

I guess I wouldn't be surprised if that's been the goal all along. I should have known better than to try for a discussion.

You should know I've been trying for a good discussion. I'm hardly clever enough to come up with something like that.

oh wait, I am!

Oh look it drew a picture of itself wearing armour while in front of a computer.

No wonder it needs a hug.

DA as a setting has never been hard on the concept of same-sex coupling. In that respect, it's always been a "safe zone". No one cared if you were with Leliana as a woman, or Zevran as a man. Not even mean ass Morrigan had anything to say about it, and makes fun of Oghren because Branka was with Hespith. If you decided to have an all-lady threesome with Isabela, no one says "eww perverts!" or nothin'. And all Oghren can say is "hot".

I'll just have to live with that shame.

Can't really comment on the Witcher series, as I've never played the games and only recently learned of them, but as for harshness, I feel that the general audience has been craving darker, more cynical stuff lately, much like how Game of Thrones has a nigh religious following, though I feel that the show is starting to feel like a try-hard parody of itself.

Given how often Thedas is on fire, I figure darkspawn, mages, templars, Qunari and whatever other big threat on the horizon are more of an issue than someone's sexual preferences.

Dragon Age doesn't have to be grimdark, but I miss the days when it was at least dark. Bioware would never pull the Elf-rape content they put in Origins ever now, and that's a very sad reflection on how nauseatingly PC our media's become.

Like Kirkwall, it's in love with crisis.

My point exactly. This is why people enjoy The Witcher's harshness over Dragon Age's pandering.

No one criticizes Sera for her choices. Hell, you're not even allowed to criticize the out-of-nowhere transex you meet halfway through the game. Murder and violence are fine, but never hurt peoples' feelings for unnatural actions! Not even an option!

Really, all trolling aside I don't see how you people can't see my reasoning here.

Because not everyone agrees with you. Essentially you want every game to meet your standards, whatever they might be. No! Play Witcher, I will stick to Dragon Age.

Dragon Age wasn't always this way.

I was pretty certain that you could criticize Sera for a number of things, aside from simply kicking her out. I haven't gone through the full list of dialogue options, and paraphrasing obviously can't be trusted 100%, but it appears that you can disagree with a lot of what she does or says. I assume that this is regarding stuff beyond her sexual preference, as you don't really get much if any content in that respect unless you coax it out of her.

As for Krem, I'm curious as to how dialogue that shows harsher disapproval would even go without it becoming a much bigger commentary set as a result. I suspect if we were able to do so, it would just turn into a big back and forth argument and would occupy much more of the game's dialogue than some would like. Of course, the likeliest effect would be that the Inquisitor just comes out looking like a total a-hole and the NPC would probably just get the last word, even if it came to the point where you told them all to get the hell out of your fortress.

Did someone say something about Fuzzbox? I think someone said something about Fuzzbox.

A propos of nothing, I'm a straight cis white guy who loves grimdark fantasy (check my avatar). I also love Dragon Age: Inquisition. The two are not mutually exclusive. Also, I met my real life wife of more than ten years on an internet forum, and tomorrow I'll be flying with her to Mexico to meet my real life family there who I would never have known otherwise. In my 20+ years on the internet, I've made friends in the US, Canada, Finland, Sweden, Germany, Italy as well as my own country, all of whom I've met in real life after first getting to know them on fora. In May, all being well I'll meet one of the regulars from this thread when she visits my home town.

What on Earth is going on?

(no need to actually explain, anyone - I read it already (those posts that haven't been extirpated at least) - I just can't understand the point of being so disrespectful to people about it)

I just don't understand why that had to e dragged out for as long as it did. Just report and ignore. Simple. Why give them a reason to post if no one can see it?

Seriously that was 50 shades of BS that went on here.  Sorry you guys had to deal with whatever the hell that was.  Not sure where the mods were in this case *smh*

Anyway, I saw this by the lovely Rannah (Here on BSN) and thought I'd share because it's lovely.

I like the idea that Dragon Age was more mature back when it was using rape as cheap plot excuses to set up a Kill Bill tribute and poorly thought through darkspawn baby factories. It's funny how lazy writing is mistaken for darkness because being a jerk is considered realistic.

Mods are on vacation or just dont care.

Unless they have 24 hour coverage this is likely a blind time.
