Blues Rock? Do you guys know The Temperance Movement? My brother introduced me to them last year. They are pretty spectacular, I think...

*snip*

Good stuff! I like the first chune!

This guy is one to watch Uncle. His first lp was kind of billerish but his second one is more early R&B/bluesy and you might like him.

You can texture replace and mesh edit, so you can do quite a bit to edit objects. Unfortunately mesh replacement is not in yet but don't underestimate WV or Eham. ;)

Really it sounds like she's asking to rename items which is something they are capable of doing but it's not written into the tools yet.

I have no clue what's going on here but I had a random thought about Sera and I figured that of all my options this would be the most appropriate place to post it. Anyway...

I've gone back and forth on liking and disliking Sera. Sometimes I find her charmingly free-spirited and appreciate her ability to impulsively live in the moment. Other times I find her to be short-sighted, irresponsible and immature.

Ultimately I think she's all of these things and this is why the character works. You've possibly heard of the "manic pixie dream girl" trope. Not going where you think I am with this- this trope actually really kind of annoys me.

The thing is, the pixie dream girl is an idealized character that tends to be almost entirely positive and without flaws. She's impulsive, yet somehow her constant attitude of leaping before she looks never backfires and gets her in a lousy situation. No, whenever this character happens to jump into things the story is typically contrived in such a way that this always turns out well. For instance, if she convinces another character to spontaneously hitchhike to a concert it's going to turn out to be a wonderful experience that would otherwise have been a missed opportunity. It's not usually going to leave them stranded somewhere and unable to get home.

The same goes for the pixie dream girl's personality. She has a childlike innocence and zeal for life yet always seems to know exactly when to act like an adult, put other people first, and spout some life-affirming wisdom. People don't work this way. There's a fine line between being childlike and being childish and someone who spends a lot of time in one category will likely step into the other as well.

Sera works because she isn't idealized. It can be a treat to run around pranking other members of the inquisition or listen to her puerile jokes but at other times I want her to act like an adult and display a little more common sense. She's both endearing and frustrating but this combination feels authentic to me and is what makes her a well-developed character overall. They could have very easily strayed into the ideal pixie dream girl trope with her and I'm glad they didn't.

It's why i like her, I think. She's equal parts fun and frustrating, but despite her intractability on some issues, there are actually some hints that she might possibly change in time given the chance...

probably more character development maybe even possibly addressing the theory of her being a goddess(personal hope due to most my theories pre launch coming to fruition)

As to modding no idea ask vee ,uncle, or john

What the living hell is up with that theory, really?

Xil, are you just asking to essentially change the name of weapon/schematis? That's possible for sure but not something that's implemented in the current toolset, so it wouldn't be possible for me to do at least until that gets updated to support that kind of editing.

Not the name, the texture; I want to change the texture of a staff to the three-headed dragon thing of the Staff of Corruption, which is unobtainable if you play In Hushed Whispers (stupidly).

it's not just them. there are others. for some reason, people.want to come into this thread and disrupt the energy of it by pointing out the obvious("wow you guys aren't talking about Sera ALL the time") to the faux intelligent crap we saw in the wee hours of the morn. and anybody that uses sjw as a negative is auto blocked by me personally. like they can't stand to just see us be us. it's so weird.

I'm going to have to investigate, I'm trying to think of who the singers voice reminds me of. Blues based rock is my favorite type of music.

Oh. Why don't you just add it with CE then? That'd be the easiest way. I can send you a tutorial on how to do that later if you need it (out and about)

Social Justice Warrior. Basically, anyone who uses that to define someone is a f*cking as*hole.

Well... I suppose that would work, but it feels vaguely wrong. But if that's what needs to be done, I can do it.

I think they wrote her to be that early-to mid-20's type of person who hasn't had enough life experiences to be fully formed yet as a grown-up. I think the bratty immaturity is what rubs people the wrong way about her sometimes and yet she can be very sweet and very concerned about others. She doesn't always get it perfect either (see: cookies). I think the hope is for a lot of us is that she's young enough that we should see her again at some point in some later game and we're curious to see how she gets on.

Yeah at the current state those kinds of workarounds are your best bet, because actually dipping into the game files instead of just interrupting it js incredibly complex. Maybe in a few months tho. After all the "unmoddable" game has only been out four months and already we have clothes, hair, gameplay fixes, and plot flag changes.

I wish I could find whoever decided that Inquisition should be an open world game with no mod support at all and punch them in the face.

and they say it like it's something negative. most people that take a stand against injustice on the internet do so in real life. i am one of those people. i don't post about my real life because that's just not me. nothing to brag about when helping your people. ALL people. doesn't deserve accolades or attention. it just gets highlighted because of visibility on the internet. but when a person uses it as a negative on here, in my mind, you are exactly the people i fight against IRL.

so for my peace of mind, i can block you on the internet. not entertaining nonsense on here when i have to fight it IRL.

As others have said, it stands for Social Justice Warrior, and it has the same connotation as Feminazi. Expect anyone who speaks up for minorities to get labelled a SJW as a way to dismiss them.

Interesting. I guess I've never seen this from her because I tend to be a bit of a sycophant with my companions- I often tell them what I know they want to hear so I can stay on their good side. I'll have to try challenging her methods a bit more on a future playthrough and see how she reacts to that.

One of the reasons I decided to check out Dragon Age last summer was reading comments about Inquisition in a PC Gamer article that were so vitriolic towards the company and game for social inclusion that I decided that if the people who hate sjw's were so against the game and BioWare then I need to open my wallet and buy the damn game for myself. Thanks haters!  :D

I'm all for social justice and equal rights for women, have been for years. But, I completely avoid using the terms Social Justice and Feminism. Simply because both terms are used negatively and a lot of those who use them on the internet use them to define their viewpoints that honestly have nothing to do with one or the other. Their use has also lead to some really ugly things being said by people on both sides of the issue.

I think we need a renewed push to return such titles to their dictionary definition and not what people seem to think they mean. After all the whole mess is driving people away from two worthy causes.
