did i use it as a negative? Just for clarification
no not at all. i'd tell you if i thought so but i wouldn't go all nuts about it either. we have a rapport so i would approach it from that respect.

just making sure. my sarcasism/satire is often deadpan so i just like to make sure i havent offendedno not at all. i'd tell you if i thought so but i wouldn't go all nuts about it either. we have a rapport so i would approach it from that respect.
I think they wrote her to be that early-to mid-20's type of person who hasn't had enough life experiences to be fully formed yet as a grown-up. I think the bratty immaturity is what rubs people the wrong way about her sometimes and yet she can be very sweet and very concerned about others. She doesn't always get it perfect either (see: cookies). I think the hope is for a lot of us is that she's young enough that we should see her again at some point in some later game and we're curious to see how she gets on.
Also a good point. Now that I think about it doesn't Sera say she was basically a little kid at the time of the last blight? I think we're told at some point that the events of DA:O happened about 10 years ago or so. That might actually make her in her late teens or, as you say, somewhere in her early twenties. I mean, I did assume she was pretty young regardless but I still considered her an adult- just an immature one. I suppose it could be the case that she simply hasn't fully hit adulthood from a developmental standpoint.
I'm going to have to investigate, I'm trying to think of who the singers voice reminds me of. Blues based rock is my favorite type of music.
I don't know, but he sure can blast it out!
Interesting. I guess I've never seen this from her because I tend to be a bit of a sycophant with my companions- I often tell them what I know they want to hear so I can stay on their good side. I'll have to try challenging her methods a bit more on a future playthrough and see how she reacts to that.
It's not really that. I'm nice to her too, but the things that she adds to the "Cabinet of Wonder Whose it Was" as the game progresses, and just the odd thing in her dialogue give me the impression that despite the front, she's considering things underneath. One more overt example is if you use the nobility perk option during her personal quest and she sees that actually she didn't need to beat the crap out of the guy to get even...

Nobility knowledge perk... Stay in school, kids!
well its possible due to the blight/other traumas she skipped certain milestones and her immaturity is a coping mechanismAlso a good point. Exactly. I forget where I saw it but someone worked out a rough estimate of her age as being between 18-24 so she's really young and pretty green around the pointed ears.

take the words apart to see how not negative they are though...social...justice...warrior. man that sounds like every super hero ever created...even the ones that didn't want to be superheroes lol
I do like the title because it's something worth fighting for. I don't know. Maybe I have seen to many negatives on both sides to really see such title as a positive, no matter how its used.
Completely random and off topic thought DC really needs to bring Vandal Savage into their movie universe.
no they dont... ill take brainic 1 before savage... not that savage is bad just not movie material... barely tv materialI do like the title because it's something worth fighting for. I don't know. Actually I did get the knowledge perk dialogue the second time I did that quest. (The first time I kept wanting to ask the guy other questions since I had a feeling that choice would end the conversation. Sera, uh, got impatient with this...)
As you point out, she does seem amenable to the idea that maybe there's a different workaround from time to time. I guess I overlooked that but it does bode well for Sera's future that she was able to think it through for herself and see the merit there.
The 'cookies' conversation is also very interesting if viewing it in the light of someone who just hasn't quite grown up yet. She sees it as nothing but conceit on her mother's part (telling her the baker hated elves was a really, really crappy way to handle it though) but I viewed it as a woman who didn't want to ruin the illusion of homemade cookies because they made her daughter happy. Part of growing up is learning that your parents are flawed people just like anyone else. There can be terrible disappointment that comes with that but I think most of us come to accept that they usually mean well but happen to be human beings that make mistakes. It sounds like Sera hasn't entirely come to terms with that reality yet.
probably not but it takes time some people still sort out their childhood time and a good enviro seems goodActually I did get the knowledge perk dialogue the second time I did that quest. Really? Given his history with pretty much every DC universe character and the resources at his disposal he would make a great villain. Also, he has to renew his immortality via a blood sacrifice and has targeted and even killed several hero's over the years to prolong his life. He is way more interesting than a out of control AI imo.

use wisely hahaWow, I'm glad that I got some likes back as this conversation is really enjoyable to read.
What content do you foresee Sera getting in DLC?
And how difficult would it be to mod the First Enchanter Staff schematic to have the appearance of the Staff of Corruption? Or possibly I'd give that appearance to the Staff of the Void...
I doubt she'll ever get a DLC.... it'll be about Solas, if i had to guess.
Something that has to do with her past would be neat for me. Gurl needs a big cup of hot chocolate and lots of snuggles with the **** she's been through that probably formed the Sera we know now.
Pls, make a dlc that gives Sera a big part in it. biower pls.

i mean...I'm not personally caping for that title. i am who i am. i fight because it would be ridiculous not to, imo. every time i look at my neices and nephews, i would prefer to leave a world with just a little bit more positivity for them. that's it.
besides, Sera wouldn't approve of doing nothing anyway. even if her ducks aren't in a row...she will make something shake. that seems to be the quality people over look with her for whatever reason.
Well the world isn't getting any bigger and cultures are starting to intertwine to the point where we are going to have a singular world wide culture in a matter of years. It's better we fight for what is right now before things progress further. Because the longer we have such issues the bigger they will become and the harder it will be to correct them. So everyone should be doing what they can to make the world a better place for the next generation. But, we also need to work with the past generations as well. There is far to much untapped wisdom in people like our grandparents and a lot of them have been fighting the good fight long before we started.

I need to hear more about that theory. How many buy it and how seriously do people take Sera being some unknowing god?
As I am about to shut down my gaming rig for three weeks, I thought I'd share a final couple of Sera pics before my holiday...
Wait! Do you have a screenshot of Sera looking cheeky? Preferably a close up.
well its possible due to the blight/other traumas she skipped certain milestones and her immaturity is a coping mechanism
That's definitely an interesting theory. There are probably more than a few people running around Thedas with PTSD or some serious stress disorder as a result of living through the blight. I can't say I know enough about such things to warrant a guess as to whether Sera's suffering from something along those lines and if it would slow her development. Maybe someone else that's a little more knowledgeable on the subject could chime in because now you've got me wondering about that.
