Dani, it's in Novac, a location that's most memorable feature is a giant dinosaur statue standing in the town. You end up going there by following the main quest line.

The one Artemis talked about with the pretty lights. was that this game or Fallout 3.

Oh, the gun with the pretty lights would be 'That Gun'. You can get it from Cliff Briscoe in the town of Novac. You'll go through there as part of the main quest. His shop is inside the dinosaur (you'll understand when you get there.)

The first run is always messy, but that's part of the fun imho.

Which one? There are lots of nice guns in the game, and lots of nice non-gun weapons too. My favourite gun is That Gun, behold:

Wait till the shopkeeper goes to sleep, then steal That Gun otherwise it's expensive.

Or if you make a detour to Camp Golf, you can pickpocket my favourite gun from a Ranger there: the Ranger Sequoia.

Damn, out of likes. I do like this post, tho.

 

If you really feel bad about stealing the gun, you can always come back later to him, when you're rich, and buy everything in his shop even if you don't need it in order to make up for the theft: roleplaying at its finest.

 

_{Also take the Cherchez la Femme perk, it unlocks dialogue with some ladies here and there, IIRC. Check the wiki, just to be sure, it has been a long time since I've played it.}

My favorite weapon in FNV as of late is the simple laser rifle with all the modifications. It's a great sniper weapon.
