Did anything special happen during the Third Blight?

Oops. Sorry it was the Second Blight and from what the wiki has told me the darkspawn had come out of the Western Approach and fought the Grey Wardens in some epic kickass battle that permanently weakened the Veil there. Perhaps that was causing Sera to have her flashbacks.

I'm just wondering why is it significant to Sera. The likelihood is is that Sera has never been there before. There are no cities there. There is no reason for her to be there. There has to be more to it.

Well my thoery is that elves innatly have magic or at the least more receptive of mana and those who can't use the gifts of mana... are merely able to feel it like a sixth sense. Now if sera is having these episodes of hypersensitivity two paths are possible

A: she is a mage that has enough power to merely sense things amplified but her elven heritage. And is just unusually coming into her powers(usually manifests from 6-10 or early teens)

B: she is a elven goddess of the dalish pantheon that is amnesic and is redeveloping her powers at a slow rate possibly regressing her age to a child at the time so they "heal" faster unintentionally giving her a "modern elf" life and span explaining her current form. Solas knows this and in his true fashion coaxing his "friend" out in a odd way of helping the people.. though sera is subconscientously fighting it as a way to deal with the mental strain of the dual personalities. This imo showcased at the temple of mythal. memories of time past resurfaced and "sera" in a way of coping and retaining "herself" says its all lies and pushes away those who wish to help.

Monkey's crazy theories brought to by rahfiki's card emprium- " if we dont got it you dont need it"

Personally, I hope it's not an "all elves are this way" thing. It could be... I'm not dismissing it. I just hope to hear a story about her specifically, rather than general elfy stuff. :D

I think it was in an article that they said dlc was coming soon. It's mentioned in the twitter thread and I posted a link to it here a couple of days ago, I think. Don't know for sure when it was.

Edit: found the link about the article and post in the twitter thread.

Alternate theory: The Blight was created by the Ancient Elven Gods as a weapon against the Dread Wolf who rules over the Fade. The Red Lyrium idol that Hawke and co. found was intended as a battery of sorts to power magic (note that Darkspawn emissaries get their magic from the Blight, not the Fade) and to create drones who could fight the Dread Wolf's Spirit friends. It didn't work as intended, so now we have the Blight. There is precedent for Elven Gods screwing up majorly (The Dread Wolf's orb for example.)

What Sera is reacting to are the memories of those who were enslaved and slaughtered in the name of their masters. It would rub her the wrong way.

well merril implies all elves had the gift..so being in contact with mundies and children(comparativly) may have had diluted or greatly suppressed the trait bring it to its current state. * ponders while blowing smoke from pipe* maybe it had something to do with that blasted veil... or perhaps dragons hmm * paces and goes to theory archives*

It's possible.

I think they always intended some kind of mystical origin for them..

A funny bit of trivia is that Mahariel and Tabris were taken from "angel names" (the angel who guards the entry to paradise, and the angel of free will... respectively). I think Mary Kirby came up with them. I wonder why they did that. But I don't think it was thoughtless.

A interesting theory for sure. You should expand on it when you have the time.

The Red Lyrium idol always bothered me. Considering what Red Lyrium does, it isn't too far fetched to think it was intended as a sort of 'magic battery'.

* inhales pipe* perhaps they are "angelic" take demons for example they are the makers first yes... lets say the maker is shite and just spirit of propagation that has copies of itself. Eventually thes copies became self-aware and too prefered forms, aspects etc, now millenia goes on propagation disapears the "elveniod" spirits do something stupid... and somehow created the veil making things as they are now

Yea, the idol really needs some kind of explanation. Given Red Lyriums effect on pretty much every living being, it seems like something that couldn't have been created by mortal hands. It just seems far too toxic.

I don't think this game is intelligent enough for any of these theories to be true.

Keep smoking the pipe. Maybe more will come to you.

I don't know where they're going with the angel reference. Your guess is as good as mine.

There's that too. If only we could get Jane Jensen on the writing team.

* continues habit* it helps me think im the modern day sherlock

As for the angel references i think it fits more with the dalish then the CE due to alagorical reasons but yes perhaps ive been thinking too much
