Caramelized onions or sauteed onions on top of a steak is amazing.

Mushrooms barely have a taste to me either. It's just watery.. and weirdly textured.

They aren't seasoned correctly then. I rub mine with salt, paprika, and onion powder and then sautee them in butter.

Medium rare steak with mushrooms in a white wine cream sauce. So delicious.

That sounds like I'd taste salt, paprika, onion powder, and butter :P

 

No it combines to make this smoky silky taste and the mushrooms just melt in your mouth, not chewy or watery at all.

Call me crazy... but i like my steaks rare only eat medium rare unless im in public... or i get sidetracked and end up with it

Call me crazy... but i like my steaks rare only eat medium rare unless im in public... or i get sidetracked and end up with it

Anything past medium rare isn't worth eating. The steak looses far to much of it's natural juices if you go past medium rare.

I made the mistake of ordering a burger the other day.... well done.

 

Threw that sucker away. I don't know why I said that. It's even worse for a burger.

Anything past medium rare isn't worth eating. The steak looses far to much of it's natural juices if you go past medium rare.

years i thought well done was good then one night i was bored and took a chance and boom havent gone back

On the plus side, I had ordered a shepherd's pie when I got that burger. So I was happy enough. I never had shepherd's pie before... i thought it'd be an actual pie. But it was good.

Chefs die a little inside every time someone orders a well done or medium well steak. Because it's such a waste of a good cut of meat. I'll cook you one, but it will be 25 min and be a lot drier than it should be.

I like it more between the two, a little more than rare. :) But never more than medium rare.

My mom makes great jerky.. but she's Thai. Not like those slim jims. :P She dries it in a cage in her backyard.

I don't even know. This is the first time I remember someone even asking. I instinctively said well done, but it wasn't a normal burger.
