Haha, I hate to break it to you but the Mayans, Aztecs and People of the steps were making Pizza long before anyone else.

Modern pizza originated here, though.

I've had pineapple on pizza. It spoiled the pizza. I like a simple ham and mushroom pizza myself, perhaps with black olives.

And in general I agree with that, but fruit on a pizza is nonsense. Fruit on a pizza paired with bacon is even worse imho.

I've been known to go way out of my way for pizza and Italian food in general. Luckily were I live we have a place called 'The Hill' loaded with very good Italian restaurants. I thank the maker that many Italian immigrants chose our area to settle in. I'm also glad that many Lithuanian immigrants chose a nearby city to settle in, or I might not be able to enjoy them. I do want to visit the motherland of awesome food. I better stop before I start slobbering, I'll make my basset hounds jealous.

I... don't like mushrooms.  And I don't think I've ever had olives on a pizza either, despite the (in my head at least) near stereotypical-ness of it.

Dont worry, I'll track those down for myself... at some point I plan on visiting Italy and basically its just gonna be a tour of food. -drools- loooooooooooooove Italian. especially tuscan.

You're in for quite the tour, each region has its very own specialties that you won't find anywhere else (and some of those specialties may vary a bit depending on which area of a region you find yourself in).

I want to say "it's the texture" or "they're, like, mould ,man!" but my truest answer is just "I don't like them".  And I'm too chicken to try them again!

 

(and I really don't like the texture)

 

Tomatoes... I don't mind as sauce, as little lumps in sauce, or soup, but any bit larger than, say, a bean is a no-no, and as for raw chunks or slices, definitely not.
