If you can come up with a better word, I'm all ears. I just mean more or less in line with Body Mass Index. It's not meant to be ideal... like some greek god/goddess.

As a female I have had advertisers tell me what "beauty" is.  I've had "Hollywood" tell me what beauty is, but at the end of the day it is up to each of us to shut that noise out.

 

I absolutely watch no television aside from Game of Thrones anymore because I don't need the commercials and mass mind rape, nor do I need to be told what I think about the news from someone no more qualified than me to tell me.  Read the damn news and leave your commentary and slant out of it.

 

Marketing is a trillion dollar industry in this world.  You will not be able to stop it.  So instead of saying how wrong it is and telling yourself you are a victim to it, we should build our emotional muscles and self-love.  If you can't love yourself, how the hell can you love somebody else?

 

I mean, that's the truth.  As the Buddha said, "You as much as anyone else in the Universe is deserving of your own love".

It's very much like how the Qunari think.... having a defintive image of everything they categorize. Deviate and that thing doesn't live up to it's true "being".

I don't blame anyone for anything.  I think everyone should do mushrooms (or wish they could) once to change their world view so that they quit looking at media, plastic stuff, and all the "bad" in the world.

 

Look around this forum--most people are good people.  Listen to the news and the world is falling apart because everyone is a racist, a bigot, a murderer in waiting, a terrorist, a baby killer, etc.

 

It's just not true.  Not true at all.

 

The world leans towards an average and most people are not ugly, not unattractive, and all of us are capable of finding love.  We need to remember the good in ourselves and others.

The main problem with weight is health and lifestyle. But you could still be overweight and hot. I just think aftter a certain point, that doesn't work anymore. It's not even about making people live up to ideals as just encouraging health and their best selves.

 

That's part of the reason I'm getting into skating and clean eating. For a long time I was okay with being a bigger girl because I still felt pretty.

 

Now it takes a lot of effort into feeling pretty that I'd rather just put into a good lifestyle instead.

I so dislike tge term average it implies a universal ideal. Imo "average" is the best

I'm on Terrence McKenna level of heroic doses and never had that problem.  Best thing I ever did with my life, aside from meeting my boo.

 

Of course they're illegal which is why I don't advocate people do them.  I just wish they could.
