I'm playing a 2h warrior through DA2 right now, and it just makes me want to play a rogue. I WOULD play a mage, but I can't stand to lose Bethany. Carver can f**k off and die though.

this reminds me of this:

I love Rogue hawke the most. I think that's their most rogue friendly game so far (but they could do better). Despite the Hawke trailers, I think the Inquisitor makes a more interesting mage.

i just find the mundy classes boring and * abomination voice* know nothing of magic. And most of the plot deals with the arcane and shouldnt really have a say.

DAO: could go either way

DA2: MT conflicts and extremities are imo better as a mage cause your "part of the problem" but either exasperating it or fixing it

DAI: Mage cause well "i have a glowing left hand of the devil!" And it pervades of old magicks

Note: im not saying everybody shouldnt be a mundy just expressing MY opinion on prefered play again not forcing

I barely remember Carver's dialogue. What was the reason he's such an unrepentant a**hole?

Younger brother syndrome

Is there ever an option to get angry at him for being such a f**king idiot? The one time I played a mage Hawke I RP'ed him as more diplomatic and calm, but I really hate Carver. He becomes an even bigger b**ch when he joins the Templars.

I actually found it more effective to respond with "You're right." The ensuing response leaves him baffled, completely outsmarted (fitting, given that the only mage Hawke I play as is one of the joker variety) before Hawke concludes saying "Well, good talk."

Carver gets much better with friendship, and the 'Warden path.

yes you can have a falling out but it evens out in legacy and if he becomes a warden. But i love carver for his issues its inferiority complex borne from trying to help but always comes 2nd to big bro/sis its completly understandable

Poor Carver.

I adore him, and I hate the choice between taking him to the deep roads, which seems reckless to me, and leaving him behind for his resentment to grow.

I enjoy Carver's character and some of his silly drama, but the fact that his continued existence requires Bethany's death ensures that he only got to live once in all the times I've played DA2.

I never got a chance to get to know Carver because stupid spiders bigger than houses have ensured that I will never again touch DA2.

I liked Carver well enough but I really hate playing as mages.
That and Rogue Hawke was god.

Put a waterbottle in the freezer overnight and let it melt through the day, then it stays cold.

I actually do that in the summer. See! I do drink water! For 3 months of the year...

Yeah, I couldn't be bothered to do much more catch up.

I love Carver. He's just very human. Shrug. To each their own. Y'all know I like brats. (And everyone) Bethany is wonderful too...and I really like her stuff in the DLCs...her reaction to the Wardens is interesting, and if in the Circle, her banters with Anders especially are great

Mostly I don't like the sibling disappearing after the first act, I think they should have stuck around longer OR been more accessible, especially if in the Circle/Templars. (I'm honestly not sure how much of a purpose the Warden choice really has...IMO the other route is more narratively interesting and relevant to the game, but whatever.)

Kasumi I like your theory. I'd have to reexamine some of those older things to add anything meaningful, but I like it, haha.

Hey, y'all do realize that Carver's survival means Cute Sister Bethany dies during the Blight...?

I mean, that's... Well, thankfully I have Merrill to fill the Mage spot.

I never got a chance to get to know Carver because stupid spiders bigger than houses have ensured that I will never again touch DA2.

Oh. Real ones are still creepy. Like, VERY MUCH. Virtual ones, though... It's all about facing a fear of the pixels in the end. Admittably, without TacCam, DA2 is hardest in this regard.

Three. Months. Not enough.

Also, me neither. Partially because I'm leaving for work in ten minutes.

It is enough. I go through more water than a river in those 3 months. I overheat like crazy.

Ok... time for me to leave for the moment.

I thought the spiders were actually worse in DA:O, mainly because they had that ridiculously annoying overpower ability that knocks you down, and they proceed to have their way with you for a few seconds. The werewolves were just as bad about this.

I like Carver. I mean he is an arse, but that's the point and he grows into... well less of an arse. Actually I think both sibs provide really good counterparts to Hawke's character, kind of a shame one has to die.

It wasn't exactly well implemented but I thought having to use bashes to free people from overwhelm was one of the few bits of actually interesting gameplay Origins had.

I just think you could look at it the other way. If someone hates her, that's more Sera for you :D

There isn't really a shortage of Sera, with her being digital and all.

It's the dialogue where Sera had previously been telling him a story, that involved but was not only about her having sex, and she'd ended on a cliffhanger, so he wanted to know the ending. Apparently that constitutes sexual harassment and fetishizing.

I haven't heard this dialogue. I'd ask what it is but I don't want to harass anyone.

First time I took one of those tests I was an INFJ. I am the ~1%.

*taps fingers* so y'all just gon let the Rogek lyrium deal theory go to waste? eh. i'd start a topic on it but i know it'd get lost out there. I'm not popular or controversial enough to draw a crowd to read and respond out there.

I'm a bit embarrassed to say this as many times as I've played these games but I'm having a difficult time remembering who Rogek is, completely drawing a blank, even after you brought it up.

Rogek is the Dwarf Lyrium smuggler in Origins I believe.

He gives you some Lyrium to go and sell to some guy in the tower and you get a nice bundle of coin for your troubles.
