Whoah, whoah, whoah. I said I had an assumption and she made me see things as being more complex but she did not make me think gay women need d*ck or something. All she clued me into were there were different perspectives and experiences among gay women and that gay women were not some monolithic hive mentality. Wow way to assume an awful lot. She was never into men in the time I knew her nor did I have any sort of idea in my head that she secretly wanted me or men or was anything other than what she was to me which was just a good friend. Way to make me feel like that was dishonest or cheap. Can I have my five minutes back?

We're definitely not a monolith. I don't think that's what you were getting at. Your friend had a particular perspective, and she's no less gay than I am IMO. No one said "this is the majority of lesbians". I think some wires were crossed there in misoretu9's reading of your original comment.

I think she must have. My friend was nearly 30 and she had not come "out" till late because she was a military brat raised in the household of a very high ranking naval officer so there was a lot of pressure for her to conform to what he thought was normal. By the time I knew her she had been "out" for a few years and had a girlfriend. There was never any interest on her part in men. She was not in to them. I also was never foolish or arrogant enough to think she could be "changed" as that's something I knew was impossible to begin with nor did I ever see her as abnormal or weird. She was my friend and she was good to people and to her partner. I wouldn't say her perspective/experience was the sole thing or sole way it was just hers.  Hey I took her at her word and she was good to me.
