If it helps, I don't think you're an idiot at all. I appreciate you speaking up, because I was wondering if someone had in fact read it that way, and since you weren't Sera focused from the beginning like the rest of us, that perspective is extremely helpful in trying to process how the reactions to it overall were. Not that you're representative of that, but that you're one perspective from that pool, which we lack around here. hope that makese sense?

Whoah, whoah, whoah. I said I had an assumption and she made me see things as being more complex but she did not make me think gay women need d*ck or something. All she clued me into were there were different perspectives and experiences among gay women and that gay women were not some monolithic hive mentality. Wow way to assume an awful lot. She was never into men in the time I knew her nor did I have any sort of idea in my head that she secretly wanted me or men or was anything other than what she was to me which was just a good friend. Way to make me feel like that was dishonest or cheap. Can I have my five minutes back?

 

I didn't say she encouraged such homophobic views in you. I was speaking in general, about something I encounter all the time. But you said it that you thought before that gay women aren't into men sexually, which I suspect was based on your understanding of your own sexuality as a straight man, of being just into women, but thanks to her you apparently started thinking it's a lot more complicated for gay women.

 

I'm not trying to attack you. Just wanted to ask you, if you would consider a man who enjoys having sex with other men straight because he identifes as such? Do you think orientation is only based on self-identification?

Kind of like Larry. Who names their kid that? It's not a bad adult name, but I can't see a kid growing up with it.

 

I worked with an actual Dick. Born and raised in Texas even, if my memory serves me well. Maybe some people just think that's really funny a good name.

I would not no. But I have slept with a transgender woman and I considered my attraction to have been male to female because they identified as female. But male to male? Probably not.  I dunno does that answer your question? I am not an expert on sexuality or gender and I do have my blinders such as they are.
