I was less annoyed by that because it was optional and I could definitely see RP contexts for it, then the "what do your little pranks actually achieve" dialogue line, which you HAVE to select to romance her, lmao, and is super condescending imo.

I can only assume my Inquisitor was stupid and saw elves as meek. She struck him as different.
But he isn't as bad as Velanna was to those city elves. He's just ignorant.

I wish they weren't. I just want good stories. I don't care how powerful I am.

More by the fact she wants to be seen as a person and not as an elf. She gets annoyed when people see her as elf and not by what she does.
That goes for how she views the little people too, she doesn't see human peasants and City Elves she just sees people
but arent rpgs power trips anyway
Depends on how they're done

Media is sh!t to lesbians, i know that already. I said it in my post.
But you're trying to see something that isn't there with Sera and it gets annoying tbh. She doesn't like men. Never said she hooked up with a dude, nor that she will do it "just to tell him the wife is better". Please. It's a joke. And a lame one, at that.
I don't say she likes men. I questioned the necessity of that male-centric writing for character arc of a lesbian, banters about seducing men, especially in context when all the other Bioware lesbians took it one step further.
Though I'm not entirely sure why you're concerned if Sera liked men. Didn't you agree with The Loyal Nub's friend's take on lesbianism or I messed up something?

Well, not inherently. Is Planescape: Torment a power fantasy? Is KOTOR2 a power fantasy? (Eh, I dont have better examples off the top of my head because I'm tired as hell rn) I mean it's central to most modern gaming, yes. I'm not even knocking it. It just doesn't have to be so over the top GOD EMPEROR OF THEDAS, ya know?

Sure, that's why she greets Elf Inquisitor with such enthusiasm.

I'd say KOTOR and KOTOR 2 are power fantasies with a good story
Skyrim is definitely a power fantasy lol

I definitely don't think all games should turn into deconstructions of power and/or mundane stories, even though I love both of those things. I just really want power to be handled a little bit better, and by better I mean like..., disguise the implausible fantasy a little bit more for me, maybe lampshade it some, idk.

I care too much about Thedas to be it's god.
The worst thing that could happen is put such a cool setting into MY hands. ![]()

I don't either.
I think mentioning Hawke pretty much sums it up for me. It was just about right. Maybe the same case with many JRPG protagonists too.

Yes, really. Exactly, really. Identically, really. Consider that both descriptors refer to both a race and a religion/set of cultural practices that get constantly crapped on by the majority population of wherever they live.

I think it's a valid question.
I think it might be something a Jew could even say to another Jew. Not all Jews want to be, say, ultra orthodox. Which is kind of like a Dalish... more or less. Trying to keep it real to the furthest degree. A more liberal type would be like "Dude... no."

I don't give Sera any license for that going that way, because she doesn't want to be identified as an elf at all. She's forsaken any e-word privileges.

If she wants to be treated like a human, then I'll bloody well treat her like a human.
