That time rewind part is very interesting, it gives you the feeling of "did i do right? let's try again. hmmm, did i do it right this time?" and so on.
It's the "hardest" part of the game; trying to foresee the consequences. Like, for me...

Not true actually. After she got bored hunting animals and elves she started going into the Void for the Forgotten Ones. Check her codex.

Wait. So learning about the more nastier parts of your culture and religion, like the vallaslin being used as slave markings for the lower class and some the Creators being crazy monsters, won't change the Dalish's view on things?
I mean, you'd think that after learning that Andruil used to hunt ancient elves for sport might make a Dalish hunter reconsider wearing her vallaslin is all I'm saying.
It won't change the quest for knowledge any. Of course, there are certainly plenty of Dalish whose hearts were never in it (see the entire Sabrae clan), but nothing would necessarily shake a given Dalish companion's commitment to the quest.
Ngl if i was the elf inquisitor, i'd be mad.
Oh, I am too. Mostly at the Sentinels for abandoning the Dalish. As for the Creators? Well, we still need to hunt down more information.

I'm down for the quest for knowledge. That's fine. It's just the fact that the Dalish (and Andrastians if you count the Maker) worship a bunch (or maybe a few) arseholes.
The Dalish just have to remove the religious aspect of their quest and I'd be fine with them.

We don't have enough context to determine how exactly any necessary revisions to the Dalish religion should be implemented.

True enough, but the Creators just allowing the ancient elves to practice slavery would probably make the slavery hating Dalish think twice about their religion.

I found it a little profound that Solas himself is open to the idea of the Maker.
He's just as ignorant as anyone else.
Even Flemeth entertains some of the trappings of the Chantry stories (when telling the Warden about the archdemon).

what....what are we talking about here? cause i was gonna join the debate but idk where to start.
i will say this: i did not care for that line about Sera not being like other elves. THAT ish was disrespectful. Even if you're talking from the perspective of a person that never interacted with elves, it didn't make sense for that to be there. Elves are not one monolithic people. judging them based on the interaction with one is fuckin' stupid and i really don't know why that was left in the game. I shouldn't have to provide a real world example for why that is nonsense should I?
i shall think more on the exchanges had here. no matter if we don't all agree with each other, two positive things have happened: healthy debate and oh **** we're actually talking about Sera!
I never use that line, I don't really like it ands Sera doesn't either, so I just ignore it. I did try it once got disapproval and reloaded and tried it much later in the game (this was my first game and I struggled too get the confession scene so I tried all the conversation content)and Sera didn't disaprove which surprised me.
Edit: left something out, to me when she didn't disapprove after getting to know the inquisitor it showed her growing to accept her more, so she was willing to forgive the comment.

You'd think and also given their experiences with Tevinter and other humans. It doesn't seem like the Dalish have really given their situation vis a vis religion enough thought doesn't it?
But maybe all of this is for some later game. )

There are other things that bothered me from my own personal viewpoint which I don't believe should have been removed as it's the story they wanted to tell, it's up to them how they tell it, that doesn't mean that I'm going to like some of the decisions but it's their story. Most of this has to do with playing as an elf. My issues with the elf story really comes down to how the story affects my play through and more importantly the play through of people that I've gotten to know, I feel the disappointment that some of the decisions have had on part of our community, which saddened me as I want all of our community to be able to enjoy our first representation. I know all is something we can never have but I do think most could have been possible.
I still love Sera too death, and forgive the ramblings of someone that just wants to see everyone happy.

I want to make something clearer from my earlier comments, that may be still unclear. There are a couple of things that I believe should have been left out in a more general sense, like the 'he's a she' and the conversation commented on yesterday, these things are open to different interpretations and just cause issues.

I tend to believe, or want to at any rate, that since this is still a story in progress, that we just don't know everything yet. There are a lot of things about the mythology of both elves and non-elves that we just don't understand yet much less the inhabitants of Thedas. We learned some things in this game but we did not get everything. I think a lot of how we ultimately feel about this world and it's peoples will depend on the finesse of BioWare's writers. Do not be surprised if there are more revelations about the elves but also do not be surprised if one of the future games makes you see them in a better light or better portrayal. I mean Wardens were the good guys in Origins and yet in this game we end up throwing them out of Thedas. I would not bank on them being absent forever however.

Ill wait to judge DAI story after dlc
That's probably smart. I think they'll add some things in that will shed some light on some things we don't get and add more mysteries. There's the whole Solas thing that needs to be explained.

I'm late as usual, I know, but...welcome!
Hey now, who do you think I am? I'd never kill you for liking pineapple on a pizza, I'd just disapprove (mostly) silently.
I need that helmet in my gaming life right now. It looks great on Sera. ^^
I had to edit out some emoticons from the quoted posts because apparently there's a limit on how many of them there are in a post...bloody annoying. >__<
I hope you saw the instructions for how to get the quest, if not here is the link.
