So to return to a previous topic of much debate....  *boomerang!*

Are we going to change the thread title or what?

Ummm, I haven't finished the banner yet. Partly because I can't be bothered (don't shoot me) and partly because I focused far more time on it than I should have done, which meant I left actual projects to fall behind, which wasn't fun catching up on. I'll finish it sometime soon, maybe over the Easter Holiday.

Do we definitely know they aren't?  I thought it was all still very vague on details.

I think some dev said it, but I'm sort of taking other peope's word for it.

An expansion -- but with existing characters would be awesome. We haven't had something like it before.

I feel uneasy every time something happens that makes the PC fall a great height, like Assassins Creed's Leap of Faiths.

Oh, god, don't even mention that.  I have a fear of depths and every precipice, ledge and high jump makes my guts clench.  I've played five of the Creed games (not finished 3 yet) and they do that to me all the time.  I got it the first time playing Terminator: Future Shock  in 1995!  Half-Life games, Star Wars games, anything with high up places.

I consider it a mark of a good game and grit my teeth to continue.

Thing is, I don't mind heights or precipices and stuff like that. I don't feel uneasy when I'm high up. It's the actual falling. Maybe I fear falling. Isn't that what fear of heights is?

This just reminded me a couple of days ago my inquisitors who's a Tempest archer which is a blast with both her and Sera destroying everyone in their path. :) My inquisitor did the leaping shot and somehow flew at least a hundred feet in the air it was awesome, first time I've had that happen in my game. My inquisitor got to skydive

I guess so.  I always call it fear of depths because, to me, fear of heights means you would be scared looking up at something tall.  If you're scared to be up on the tall thing, especially on/near the edge, then that's fear of depths - or, as you say, falling off of them.

I like jumping off of places... but I've never had the opportunity to go the extremes with it. So I get a kick out of this.

Do you fear long dark hallways? Or wells or pools/lakes?

No to those, apart from, I would imagine, wells in the context of a deep hole to fall down, I guess.  So I think I get what you're saying - "depths" isn't a strictly accurate description.  It's just easier and quicker to say than "fear of falling off of the top of very high up things or down deep holes".

She says as long as your not too elfy :P

The only Inquisitor she's truly happy to see is the qunari one

I missed this response last night because I was very sleepy, so I'd like to adress it now.

When Sera meets your elf character, she says „aand you're an elf” (spoken with disdain in voice and with disgusted face expression), followed by „well, hope you're not too elfy”.

So it's very clear it was about Inquisitior being elf on itself. Also, in one banter with Iron Bull, when he asked her about her thoughts on some girl they saw in last town that catched his eye, she said „too elfy”. So it was apparently about her physical appearance, definitely not about her views on elven culture or anything that is used to excuse Sera's behavior.

Lately I've seen fragments of „White Chicks” again and realized why was I having feeling of deja vu. I think those who watched that movie know what I'm talking about. But that character was written to be a comedic caricature to be laughed at, when Sera never gets called out on it, and because game does everything to sh*t on elves it even looks like her prejudice is justified. Definitely saw people defending Sera by that argument, which is really terrible on itself because in the end, as with every decent work of fiction, it's in fact about real life issues.

On TV Tropes this particular trope is called „Boomerang Bigot”, and turns out, someone already listed Dragon Age Inquisition and Sera in video games examples there.

So the fact that Sera doesn't find elves (in general) attractive is grounds for her view being wrong?
