You can mod it, but she's f/m only in the base game. She is fabulous though, I'm very sad about that. There is Juhani, but I think you have to mod it to make her romance work?  Bit confused on that one, feel like I've heard conflicting things.

Her and Carth are kind of the main companions. I don't know if you can mod it. I wouldn't doubt it.

I wish there was a mod to leave carth on taris, but no luck so far... he's to integral to the whole plot.. which sucks cause he's suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuper annoying...

yeah the Juhani romance was bugged out so bad in the vanilla game...

on juhani:shes f/f but due to bugs on certain copies she bi. No mods required if on xbox.

Personally never had a thing for cathar... to violent as a whole

I love the Carth romance. Best comedy.  He's weird because on paper he's not a whiny or bad character, he's a dude who has been through hell and has no reason to trust you, but in game he is incredibly melodramatic, and so I have this weird blend of "I should feel sympathy for you but I can't stop laughing and ALSO YOU'RE SUCH AN *******". File my relationship with Carth under "it's complicated." I sometimes feel compelled to defend him, but mostly I laugh.

I love Kaidan and I don't think he's whiny. Maybe it's just the VA you don't like (same guy). Carth wasn't so much whiny to me as like...just ridiculous OTT. Every conversation was like:

 

Carth: DONT TALK TO ME
me: .ok
Carth: but ur hot

me: what?

Carth: I SAID DONT TALK TO ME. I DONT TRUST PEOPLE
me: ok you dont have to--

Carth: AND YOU CANT MAKE ME
me: i have no desire to.....???
Carth: okay, well. let's just keep focused on the mission
me: THATS WHAT IW AS TRYING TO DO

I played that way at first, but I'm actually replaying it atm. Trying to be cooler to him.

I've always found him to be way too whiny... I mean he's supposed to be some war hero, but every third word out his mouth has something to do with either accusing your character, trying to make a pass at your character (if female)[poorly I might add], whining about the mission, or some other little thing...

Oooh, I misread. I don't think Kaidan is OTT either. Do you mean Kaidan is like a ...well executed version of Carth, then? I would agree with that.

Possibly worth noting that a Revanette's relationship with Juhani isn't acknowledged in KotOR 2 because janky SW canon rules and no imports - so there's a surprise Carth romance instead. I had a memory the Exilerina could romance Visas and her lips but Wookie doesn't seem to agree.

no, I mean, it's like Kaiden. BUT whiny. I can't think of anytime Kaiden was like that.

Only time he was even remotely like that was in me2... and even then it wasnt a whole lot of that.

Well Revanette isnt even acknowledged as being cannon anyways. its lightside male revan who romanced bas. and was buddy buddy with carth.

for scortch its implied he and sev were "over cooked" so picked up odd traits. but it raphfel sbarge they needed a joker on the team.

All the commandos are supposed to have traits from their trainers and more individuality.

Right, that KotOR 2 even had a gender / alignment choice for the past game breaks with SW standard doctrine.

 

The Exile is way cooler anyway.
