What kind of a game is this, am I going to need to try and get a PS4?

As Monkey said, it's Dark Souls with guns, but with a different playstyle: you are rewarded for being more aggressive as opposed as being defensive.

I believe it is coming to other consoles as well but I don't think it has officially been confirmed. It does look absolutely epic though. Like, the definition of epic!

Soloed some because my internet just didn't want to let me join Spartan Ops... Grr. Did manage to play some online though. Just didn't enjoy it. Though, the story thing that was happening with each episode was enjoyable.

Yup, you can regen the health you lost after an enemy has wounded you, if you keep bashing on him: it's a neat addition, it makes everything riskier but it rewards you if you succeed.
