They're just fighting as usual and Shep intervenes with some sexual innuendo. I don't remember the specifics. Typical play on "hey you two, get a room".

I said nothing about a group though. I'll be pretty clear when I am. Like I was with the earlier Cass discussion here. And in that, I am being insulting. I admit it. I find it thoughtless, working off a poor premise.
On this Jack/Miranda thing, I was talking about Citadel. Just everything about that moment cheapens their characters. Not because of their straight orientation, but also because they were ideological opponents. To resolve all of that with a sex joke? I think it's cheap and inconsistent, as I said. As for fans who build off of this, I can't blame them. The writers give the green light. It's fair game now.
Miranda/Jack didn't happen as a fan thing because of that Citadel line though. That was a ship that came out of ME2, not that one line. Anyway, this conversation started because we were talking about non-canon shipping and you said Miranda/Jack is a thing that shouldn't be shipped, that it was a joke (and built off a conversation where you said that Varric/Cass shouldn't be shipped)....so if you mean, it's a thing that shouldn't have a line in Citadel DLC about, that's totally different. And I actually agree, but it wasn't really the focus of the conversation from the start. The whole thread of your conversation here seems to me to be pretty hostile towards people who like transformative fandom works, which I do find...not really insulting again, but like, you know. That's me, I like that stuff. I love non-canon ships or nonshippy AU stuff....it's just all a very interesting thought experiment to me, often functioning as meta-analysis of a canon I love. What if this? What if that? How can i flesh this out or fill in the gaps or explore something there? It's not the only thing I like to do, obviously, I really only talk about canon here, but it's something that I enjoy. So. It's not a great way to start a conversation, which is why I feel defensive and frustrated. And it's also not an uncommon attitude, trust me, which is another reason why I get defensive and frustrated. So I'm sorry if that made me in turn be too harsh. ~*when sensitive flowers collide*~
I do agree you're willing to talk and apologize and that's why I like you, haha. I've no interest in arguing with you for a long time or whatever, it's just...when I see something that I like being misrepresented, I'm gonna say something.

Fair enough. You said earlier you haven't encountered an approach like mine before, but I'm kind of surprised. I think what you're engaging in (thought experiments) is the more rare trait. Relatively speaking. There's a lot of people here and on the net who like it, but the rest of the world is more populated by the opposite. Else we'd have brainstormers and creative bursts all over the place ![]()
I'm gonna get into MBTI again. You said you're ENFP.. "Ne" is your first function. Thought experiments are your domain. Same with ENTPs (who are stereotyped as inventors). I'm a Se type. I focus on what is, not what could be... more often. It might be dull, but I'm pretty safe company if you want someone to keep their hands on the steering wheel ![]()

Alternate Universe. Like I think I saw soemone writing a prompt like "What if Anders was the Inquisitor" which tbh, I have no interest in reading, lmao, but that kind of thing. (cool concept just...not with Anders)
Then people do stuff like "coffee shop au" or 'High school au", which is not my jam at all because I like to play with canon, not just take the characters out of it, but its fairly popular, especially in some fandoms (but thankfully not Dragon Age...again, for personal preferences)

I just do *not* get those? I came across a...*looks nervously at Magic* erm, C/V fic recently that has the two of them put in a safe house for a week by Leliana. It was a modern AU with a 50s detective vibe, and the Inquisition was some weird branch of the CIA or something. Just ..why?

I don't think you're dull! If I didn't wanna talk about canon, I wouldn't be on the BSN, lmfao.
btw I don't think I said I had't encountered it before, I very much have. I think that was someone else. I've expressed a lot of confusion, but not out of unfamiliarity. I get so confused because I see it a lot. I don't care that you're a...canon purist? Or whatever
I just don't like it when I feel like people are saying if you're not that, then you're Doing Dragon Age Wrong.
and lmfao nods at MB type analysis of that, nods
