I just like reading FF its fun to see AUs or interpetation of lore...

Interpretation of lore is great. I don't see them as the same thing, since they're playing connect the dots... sometimes in the most unpredictable ways, but it's still using the dots available.

Fair enough. You said earlier you haven't encountered an approach like mine before, but I'm kind of surprised. I think what you're engaging in (thought experiments) is the more rare trait. Relatively speaking. There's a lot of people here and on the net who like it, but the rest of the world is more populated by the opposite. Else we'd have brainstormers and creative bursts all over the place ;)

I'm gonna get into MBTI again. You said you're ENFP.. "Ne" is your first function. Thought experiments are your domain. Same with ENTPs (who are stereotyped as inventors). I'm a Se type. I focus on what is, not what could be... more often. It might be dull, but I'm pretty safe company if you want someone to keep their hands on the steering wheel ;)

thats what you got me im a counterpoint technically a mediator type but hey im awsome haha

INFPs are very good at putting themselves in other shoes, having deep empathy from that, seeing lots of points of view.... so yeah, a mediator. It's like using that "thought experiment" angle of Ne on an interpersonal basis, when it's coupled with a strong F (Fi).

lol...I sound like I take this stuff really seriously, but I don't. I used to... but I remember much of it.

Alternate Universe.  Like I think I saw soemone writing a prompt like "What if Anders was the Inquisitor" which tbh, I have no interest in reading, lmao, but that kind of thing. (cool concept just...not with Anders)

Anders would be the worst Inquisitor, well after Bodhan and Sandal anyway.

Are AU's like Alternate Histories in that there are always airships overhead?

We believe you.

Well as an ISTP my dominant cognitive function is Ti, so I'm probably a lot more dull than you

I just do *not* get those? I came across a...*looks nervously at Magic* erm, C/V fic recently that has the two of them put in a safe house for a week by Leliana. It was a modern AU with a 50s detective vibe, and the Inquisition was some weird branch of the CIA or something. Just ..why?

I mean I can get why people would want to write them. You take familiar characters, put them in new settings, try to imagine how it would go....I imagine it might be fun to write, but I can't find it compelling enough to read....especially like something like Dragon Age, where the world does not transfer over to a modern AU well at all.

I test as ISTP all the time, but I'm a little iffy on that. We're both Se types though. I'm definitely not an extrovert either.

umm yes i do. as it is such, i chose to view your decisions the way i did. okay? okay.

now then...what they don't tell you about retwisting locs is it takes hours. i have been doing this since like 7 o'clock and I'm still not done. my arms hurt.

I mean, it's up to you not to read my posts, but I feel like you're shaming me for not roleplaying in your style, and truly I think that's atrocious.

If there was only one right way to play they wouldn't give us all these choices. But do what you want.

So, would y'all be annoyed if I skipped ME1 and went straight to ME2 when I play Eric?

The controls are just so clumsy for me and I don't want to deal with it again.

Seems reasonable to me. The only reason I played ME1 multiple times was to tweak little story differences for import.

You can do but you still haven't done the completionist play through yet. I think we discovered you missed lots of stuff. But, you can do. There's no harm in doing it other than many, many things not showing up.

Argh. :( The reason I skipped so much in ME1 is because the controls are so annoying. I guess I should though, because that way I'll get the choices I like.

That's pretty much what I did. I did three completionist playthroughs of ME1. One romancing Liara so I can carry that on, one romancing Ashley and one romancing nobody. (I don't like the idea of "cheating", even in a game.)

Apparently ME2 thinks you were a renegade in ME1 if you don't import though. So I'd have to use someone else's save and then he still wouldn't be Eric.
