Yes! You use "dinner." Everyone I know, besides my family, uses the word "tea" to name that meal. It really irks me.
I thought tea was like an afternoon snack?

Not to everyone I know.
It is, but it's also a common (usually working class) British idiom to use it to refer to the evening meal.I thought tea was like an afternoon snack?

I just don't understand it... and I am working class!

So then... what's an afternoon snack? Do y'all actually do afternoon teas, or is high tea not a thing anymore?

Not in my home. An afternoon snack is an afternoon snack.

*puts on monocle*
Why that would be supper, my dear.
*sips tea*
Indeed. Quite
Wait, really? So... supper and dinner are snacks, but tea is dinner?

Dinner is dinner. Tea and supper are the same thing, which is just an afternoon or evening snack. At least for me anyway. I assume people have tea and supper but I'm inclined to think it's not such a common thing anymore.
"Tea" in Britain and here in Ireland is either dinner or a small snack later on the evening, like supper. The latter may just be us Paddies though.
In fact in likely is - historically many country folk have dinner very early, around traditional lunch time. Hence smaller meal in the evening.

I'm just going to stick to my medium/large meal at 5:30 and call it dinner.

No wonder I love it.
Watching Lady Insanity's stream of the DLC, there is some romance dialogue

"Afternoon tea...dinner...supper?"
That's a new one on me: We're stuck on the runway waiting for Enrique Peña Nieto's private jet to take off. (He's the president of Mexico.)
You could be stuck on the road waiting for George H.W. Bush's motorcade to pass (what did he have? A fleet of 500 cars??) like I was once.
The reverse for me. Fable 2 and 3 went for a steampunk look and feel which I love. There are so very few steampunk games and to have them suck so much. *weep* I have been told Dishonoured is interesting. We'll see.
Dishonored is awesome. Whalepunk!
How are the Fable games? I've never played them but they sound kinda interesting.
Woah! That was a good episode. My heart literally stopped for a moment. And I have a tear in my eye. And once again, awesome music!
Sounds awesome! I've downloaded it but I reckon I'll play it at the weekend when I've got the time to dedicate my full attention to it!
So I killed the thread. My mad skills remain undiminished.
