Why does this game suck so much?
I think one of the problems is that the Inquisitor is a terrible protagonist and it seems to me that there's very little way to make a satisfying dramatic arc with their character throughout the story as a whole. Or at least, the Inquisitor seems terrible to me.

Lack of dialogue options. Pure and simple. In most conversations the Inquisitor can only be generic good guy, mildly sarcastic or blunt. Oh, and he/she can ask a bunch of questions, but that's about it in terms of range.
They really should have made the sad, stoic, angry, confused and surprised options far more common.
The lack of origins didn't help either.

Not to mention that your companions can hate you, but the advisors are pretty static and live to worship you no matter what.

i tgink the inquisitor is a good protag and regardless of RP i felt plenty of satisying dramitic arcs. Maybe you over hyped it more than the devs?.Why does this game suck so much?

I still quite enjoy being the inquisitor, although I definitely think there are ways to improve the game.

Well, that's definitely a factor, I won't deny that.

Which might be why I didn't enjoy Josie's romance as I thought I would. I mean, I just had to click the heart icon, no matter how ruthless or rude my character could be, she would still fall in love with her: at least with Sera you need to work a bit to raise her approval before she even considers the idea to be in a relationship with you (and I think it's probably the same with the other companion romances - I haven't tried them so I wouldn't know for sure).

Cullen and Leliana can get really annoyed with the Inquisitor, especially Leliana if you conscript the mages and stop her from killing that traitor, but yeah, their relationship with the Inquisitor is pretty static unless you romance them.

That's pretty much why I have no interest in romancing Josie.

It's a shame, really. Josie is sweet and all, but...she just isn't for me, nor is her romance (which is not bad per se, mind you).

Probably just your expectations. I came in only expecting a game I can enjoy and I got that.

Josie's really, really nice.
Unfortunately, that gets tepid really, really fast. I mean compared to Sera she's perfect girlfriend material that you would totally see yourself being with IRL. But as an interesting fictional romance arc that needs conflict, angst, joyous love, real-life problems, emotional pitfalls and outright weirdness, Sera beats her by a mile and then some.

well for my PCs i felt a lot of character dev compared to the previous titles. I mean my template were pretty well adapted to the story and flowed just like how id imagined. Sure i have bugs and shat graphics but the story went how i hoped.Well, that's definitely a factor, I won't deny that.
