It's a shame, really. Josie is sweet and all, but...she just isn't for me, nor is her romance (which is not bad per se, mind you).

It is, but I know a lot of people who love it, so at least she's got a certain crowd's attention.

I'll just keep going back to my Bull.

Which might be why I didn't enjoy Josie's romance as I thought I would. I mean, I just had to click the heart icon, no matter how ruthless or rude my character could be, she would still fall in love with her: at least with Sera you need to work a bit to raise her approval before she even considers the idea to be in a relationship with you (and I think it's probably the same with the other companion romances - I haven't tried them so I wouldn't know for sure).

Yeah, there should be some kind of approval-disapproval with your advisors. And they could do their work, and still hating you at the same time.

*on the other hand, i'm glad i don't have the option to make Leliana mad at me. Can you imagine the deadly staring.

Josie's really, really nice.

Unfortunately, that gets tepid really, really fast. I mean, compared to Sera she's perfect girlfriend material that you would totally see yourself being with her IRL. But as an interesting fictional romance arc that needs conflict, angst, joyous love, real-life problems, emotional pitfalls and outright weirdness, Sera beats her by a mile and then some.

Yup, she is. And honestly, it's not the drama-free aspect of the romance that bothers me (actually, having a drama-free romance between two women is kinda refreshing, all things considered), it's that I don't feel like I've done anything particular other than clicking the flirt button: considering her personality, I don't see how she would tolerate, let alone fall in love with a Jerk!Quisitor. There should have been some kind of approval/disapproval mechanic for the advisors too.

Mmm i have enough trouble managing companions... but advisor ratings... i remember them verbally frowning my choices... which was good enough for me

Yup, this precisely.

Well, to be honest, Darth Leliana already does plenty of deadly everything.

Sera is pretty much any IRL relationship out there, hence why i'll take her romance anyday, everyday over Josie's. Josie is nice and all, but she's very static and boring. Couldn't finish my elf Josiemanced pt due to this, my interest in Josie went dry. :/

If there's one thing I'd wish for a nonelf Inquisitor, it's that she would be somewhat less prickly-afraid of magic and inclined to attack its use. And spirits. The Cole stuff is highly disappointing.

Really? I thought Cole's arc was one of the better in terms of character development!

Agree Josie is sweet but just doesn't fit for me. Sera's aggressive and I love that.

She's allowed to be afraid of something as much as i am allowed to be afraid of spiders and planes. Xil, pls.

There's no "less prickly-afraid". Everyone has their fears.

I thought Cole's arc was really good, the disappointing thing I can think of is not seeing Rhys and Evangeline

"Tea" in Britain and here in Ireland is either dinner or a small snack later on the evening, like supper. The latter may just be us Paddies though. :) In fact in likely is - historically many country folk have dinner very early, around traditional lunch time. Hence smaller meal in the evening.

I thought she eventually warms up a bit regarding Cole...? In my playthrough she stopped calling him "it", I saw that as a "I kinda like him but I'll never admit it" sort of deal. It might not be ideal but it's better than outright hostility all the time.

Well, to be fair, she's fine with befriending mages as people and is more concerned about other people's opinions of you "being just another scary mage." She knows you and trusts you and your magic, but acknowledges that the mage-fearing common people probably won't.

Cole though. Yeah, she's never going to be used to him being around. That said, the kid does keep reading her mind even when she repeatedly tells him to stop. You won't want your most imitate emotions and memories being constantly blurted by some weirdo, would you?

I suppose it's karma for all of her annoying pranks.

Wait wait, are you the other Irish person, or the one with Irish roots?? I was talking to Nub earlier and I couldn't remember what thread got hijacked with Gaeilge but could have sworn it was you! :D

The one thing I really enjoyed about the Josie romance is that it was such a ridiculously sweet cliché medieval fantasy romance, and I could do it as a female PC. It was really sweet, and kinda different from the Warden/Leliana and Hawke/Isabela. Sera's personality just wouldn't have gelled with my Quizzy romantically. She developed patient older sister feelz for her. :)
