It's just too much frustration to risk. I couldn't even beta test patch 5 because I would CTD the moment the intro started or right after creating my character. On the rare occasion I got past both it would ctd right at the start of the interrogation scene. I tried playing when patch 5 went live and every cut scene or dialog scene would cause a ctd. It's infuriating because I'm in the camp of those who think DA:I's game play is nothing  but a watered down MMO and a bad one at that. The only thing that keep me playing was the cut scenes and character interaction. So more or less the only parts of the game I really enjoyed where the root cause of my immense frustration due to the dx crash.    

 

Don't know what to tell you then. If I were in your shoes I'd probably bail on it permanently. I was pissed with patch 5 as I had ctd's every single time I went to the war table soon after the game loaded. Wouldn't happen later on after I rebooted but just that first visit I'd get a crash. I am one of those who goes to check on what the advisers have been doing while I am away. Their patching has been pretty appalling really for a major developer as something seems to be broken with every patch that was not broken in the previous one.

Curious considering gow DAI was made from PC primaryly

 

I really think it was made with Xbox 1 and PS4 in mind and PC third and very little thought was even given to older consoles.

Yeah, I noticed that too. The Griffin shield is for DAO, the black and green one is DAI but I have no idea what the white tower is... Awakening?

It just occurred to me. That must be it. I might have to play the ME trilogy now... Curse you, completionist nature!

 

The combat is better than DA. Miles better. The companions are not as interesting. But all the good story telling elements are there as well as companion approval and disapproval. It will feel very familiar to you when you play it. There is also some good lore for all of the races and some elements were surprisingly fantasy and not just sci-fi. It's very cheap in a 3 game bundle.

Mmh. I might check it out this weekend. I'm bored and need something new. Or something I haven't played in a long time.

Na, DA:I is a mess from the ground up. One of the biggest problems is the simple fact that the game was rushed out the door so that EA/Bioware wouldn't miss out on holiday sales. It's pretty clear that large chunks of the games code where hard coded. Hard coding is a great way to get things out the door fast, but if you have any issues that need to be addressed or want to add something new, it's next to impossible to do so without creating issues. If for example the UI of the game was modular coded and their was issues with the UI, you could fix it and simply forget about it. Because the UI would be a self contained part of the games code and wouldn't have any real negative effect on the rest of the games code.
