What can I say, I'd rather bring a mage who is nice to Sera than one who tries to make her feel bad because she's not into elfy stuff. :P

Sera instigates most of their conflict.

Also, am I the only one here who likes Anders?

No I like him in Awakenings. I understand that he screws up badly in DA 2 but it's hardly his entire fault.

I'd say Dorian is pretty condescending to Sera sometimes but it's like, that's Dorian's thing. I mean Solas is too, but he kind of randomly respects certain people and doesn't others....Dorian is snooty to all hehe.  However, I love Sera/Solas because she's so hilariously "whatever" and also the lizards in his bedroll and even when she's angry/defensive, she frustrates him which makes me giggle. Sera/Dorian is a super cute combo though. My preferred parties for my canon PT were Sera/Blackwall/Solas and Sera/Blackwall/Dorian, so I like them both equally.

edit: I also disagree Sera instigates that conflict. Solas is always the one poking at her. Maybe she is the one who acts out more, but he's just as culpable imo. He's patronizing as all hell to her. They both are just too different and too alike to get along without some help haha.

I like Anders. He grated on me a bit in DA2, but having played Awakening I understood where he was coming from, especially with Justice screwing him up. I can never condone what he did, but I still care for him. Plus he's possibly the best mage in the series bar Morrigan IMO. Definitely best healer.

Dorian will laugh though as she cuts him up. It's why I think he is the best pairing for her in terms of who she'll get along with.

Solas is awfully condescending with her. I tend to get my back up too with snooty smarty pants types so I related to her. Sure she's rude to him but that's the arsenal/defense she has with him.

The thing is that... Sera earns all of it, and more. She's not just ignorant and rude, she's proudly ignorant and rude, to the point of expressing sentiments like "there's no difference between a foreign language and meaningless gibberish" and "genocide victims are good targets for mockery" and "any sort of magical aid to society in general should be shot" and "there's no point in organizing to try to make the world better because everything will continue to suck anyway" and I could really go on for ages.

Yeah Dorian is condescending, but he doesn't take himself so seriously. He's more like...well, raised wealthy and has all that class privilege and is a snot about it, but he's perfectly happy to be teased or taken down (as long as it's not like Blackwall's abrasiveness lmao) because he wants to get along with people and he obviously has issues wit the background that gave him that snobbery. Solas just...doesn't have that level of interpersonal self-awareness. He's more concerned with figuring Sera out in a way that aligns with his perspective than like...letting her be herself.

To be honest, I think Sera reminds Solas of himself when he was younger. So he wants to mentor her, but he goes about it from a perspective of projection, and she is not about that life.

Hmm...you know I never thought about it that way. In his way Solas is very much a rebel so that theory does sort of make some sense. I need to chew on that some more.

Nope, I haven't. I'm checking into my hotel for Emerald City Comic Con in a few hours and then I'll be busy until Monday so I figured no point in starting it until next week. So I prob won't have anything to say until Tuesday!

I also have a long post percolating about Sera and Solas but I have to pack, lmao.

Banter with Solas when Solas tries to pitch the idea of organizing the Friends of Red Jenny more and actually taking on the hated aristocracy.

Oh man...you're level 24 and you're still getting rolled?? I may need to buy it if just for the challenge. :) Cass is the best tank in the game so that is a loss!

Oh c'mon, you're being really over-critical. Even Solas concedes she has a point at the end of the conversation.

The point of the Red Jennies to be a thorn in the aristocracy's side, to remind them that their actions have consequences.

It's been proven throughout history that if you lop off the top of the pyramid it doesn't create equality, another group always moves back to the top - which is exactly what Sera says. It's actually quite insightful of her to realize.
