here's where the role-playing aspect grates my nerves in DAI: Thren. Every time she asks if my character was at Ostagar, my god I want to scream "YASSS YA BISH!"

i mean...i know Quiz wasn't there but lordt...hate her trying to feed me that shullbit about Loghain.

Threnn: Were you at Ostagar?

Herald: Hell yeah I was. I played the entire sequence. I saw everything, and I didn't see you there.

Threnn: Wha...how old were you?

Herald: B**ch please! Don't change the subject!

I just have really weird standards for what counts as flirting. If I post a picture and people compliment it, then that's validating and I'll accept any comments anyways because I brought it on myself.

It's flirts that come out of left field that I don't know what to do with.

Threnn: Were you at Ostagar?

Herald: Yes. my Warden fought that ogre, lit that fire and then your hero leader p*issed off and let everyone die.  Where were you, cowering at the back?

Threnn: What? But... how is that possible?!

Herald: Later, my Warden cut off your great hero's frickin' head and played football with it at the Landsmeet.  My team won three-nil against the Darkspawn Defilers. You missed the best day ever.

(we should do more of these)

I had a long answer to you, then my internet went nuts and refused to send the ones and zeroes to BSN -.-

Let me do this quick then:

Solas says he saw "a weary general saving whoever he could from pointless slaughter" at Ostagar - could this be Loghain? I believe he did what he thought best for Ferelden.

Also, if he's the Warden contact, and you save Threnn in Haven, she mentions he remembered her. Where she served, what her name was. And I think she also says he casually spoke with her. He had to be a good commander once upon a time. One of the best, perhaps.

Her loyalty to him is inspiring - and she's equally loyal to the Inquisition. Such loyalty also doesn't come cheap. He had to deserve it.

The man's very grey, but he has his white moments. I disapprove of his actions in The Stolen Throne, in regards to Katriel, and I disapprove of what he did at Ostagar. But he's not an entirely black character.

Sadly, he's proven that his actions weren't the best nearly a year later.

Hmm. Is it wrong that I find myself wanting a replica sniper rifle (M24 SWS. Gosh, what a beauty. Bolt action sniper rifles = sexy.) and an actual KA-BAR knife...?

I mean... this whole thing's kinda messed up. It's starting to look that I might even be a pocket psychopath.

I don't think so?

do you do airsoft? it sounds like you would enjoy it.

First impressions of PoE are rather good :) Game loaded like a charm. Runs flawlessly. Really good score. Very impressed with the music and the art is better than I recall the beta being. Combat was also much improved and easier to follow from the beta. There are some sinister cultists up to no good and I'm wandering through a wilderness on my own.  Created a "Godlike" so I am wandering around with an enormous fiery head. Ok I think I'll be playing this a lot this weekend! :)

Man! I'd love a 1911 (replica, but heck, if I could, I'd get the real deal in a heartbeat... especially if I could get my paws on one of the "original" M1911A1s! - and the A1 isn't the original one... that's the improved one, used in WW2, based on the original and experience from WW1... point is, Kimber or any modern 1911'S good, but the old, WW2-era ones... extra style!), MP5, HK416... the M24...

And who knows, in the future, I might make a collection of such replicas as a Thompson, MP40, StG44... I just love the era. I guess the WW2 guns would be just for the looks, though. I don't think there are people who do WW2 airsoft around here. I'd have to look, but I don't think so. Heck, I don't think there are groups who do the US Navy SEALs, either, so... I guess the only way I'd get to wear AOR2's is to join a group that does PMCs.

And as an added bonus, imagine if I actually teach history in the future. How many teachers bring replicas of the weapons with them when teaching WW2? Not many, I'm sure. Plus, imagine the motivation to PAY ATTENTION. "If you people pay attention, and the class is nice for the entire year, you're getting a treat, kids!"

Hmm. Maybe an approval from parents before I do it wouldn't be uncalled for, though. Gotta think ahead, right. But heck, I'm nearly positive it'd keep the boys quiet and trying, at the very least!

I'm never going to be a soldier now, but I guess it's who I am, deep down, after all.

I think in the US you can join till 32 or 35. Somewhere in there. Your country must have a lower limit.

I think replicas are fun and it's nice to have a hobby. I don't have much from world war 2. Well I have one thing only (besides my grandfathers service photos and some from my great uncles) and that's a helmet liner I bought years ago. It still has the guys name in it. Militaria is pricey though so replica's are probably more cost effective in the long run. I sometimes paint toy soldiers but I've been lazy lately. I have some unpainted French regiments from the War of the Austrian Succession to finish...maybe this summer. :P

Argh, I have to replay the stupid end mission of ME3. Why can't they make it obvious what you're choosing?

The plan was to start, now that I'll be getting a paycheck. Thing is, my paycheck has proven to be... insufficient... for the massive costs to start. I sort of have to eat, first...

No, I did not mean age as an issue. I seem to have given up on the idea, for reasons I wish not discuss.

If you doubt all three, you can choose all three...

I'll admit, I never actually had only one choice open.
