Cory's more interesting as a concept or something to bounce off your roleplaying with (especially how you differ from or resemble his Faith issues). Gameplay, not much to talk about.
Yes, very true. Patrick Weekes said Leliana was the character most similar to Cory - he was her "dark mirror", being a burned believer. Pretty interesting angle I thought. I still think the story stumbled in places, though. The cut scene at the destruction of Haven was powerful, and the rest was just an anticlimax. Ah well.

That's how I started viewing her.. and I feel good about trying to get her back on track.
In my bigger picture view, my own "Hero of Ferelden" is like the anti-Herald of Andraste. He made a blood pact with the reavers and started worshipping that dragon as Andraste. And he totally bummed Leliana out. lol
Cory somehow fits in all this, but I'm trying to figure it all out still....

Oh the music was great! I'm surprised how much I liked Trevor Morris on this, having been a die hard Inon Zur camper. The soundtrack to Inquisition was great. Though, as we speak I'm playing Origins and am at camp, and man. DA:O music is one of my all time faves.

Trevor's music is so much better once I listened in isolation (the actual song tracks). He's more into layering moods and atmosphere than Inon Zur.. not quite as straight up musical.. but I'm starting to like him equally.

Mine DID drink Avernus' concoction... Her one none paragon choice. She forced him to be ethical after sparing him, though.
I never defiled the ashes. Partly because Leliana = Bae, but also I RP with elements of myself to an extent. I'm still pretty religious, despite grappling with the gay thing, and also Catholic history (as in studying history of the Church made me realise many decisions were strictly political). I love the religious themes in Dragon Age. I may question organised religion, but defiling a relic? Hell nawww!
Ah, I played a ton of characters. It's not really my favorite, just so you know lol.. just what I thought had great potential. My Hawke is in the middle.. just a funny rogue.
But i tapped into my religious side here with the Inquisitor. So I know what that's like too. If it helps, I'm more sincere this way. ![]()

Ah I'm only kidding! There's no right or wrong way to RP.

I find that the final bosses in BioWare games are pretty much never the toughest fights, as by that time you're levelled up and aware of how to keep your team alive. They just tend to be a bit of a grind due to having loads of hit points...
Also I don't think that they make any main story quest bosses too tough as they want people to finish. The toughest fights tend to be in optional quests and DLCs...

My Warden and Hawke are very similar. Only difference is Cousland has "official" noble background, whereas Hawke's is kind of...engrained? My IQ has the same "noble" personality as those two, but she's Tal-Vashoth, so she's a bit like "er, what...?" with the Herald stuff. She's open to the Maker, but she's experienced prejudice from Thedosians all her life so is a bit bemused by all this saviour stuff!
That's the only boring part of this current world state of mine. They're all human and connected to nobility.
However, I try to see them being more connected by magic (and apostates). Hof and Morrigan. Hawke and Anders. And now I'm playing a mage myself, and Cass is like my older heroes. They're all kind of showing important sides of the Chantry issue, in their own way. But especially these last two.
And then we have Corypheus... Who, to me, is everything that could go wrong with a mage. Everything Morrigan basically admired and Anders overlooked. And everything my Inquisitor doesn't want to be.

Just finished Mass Effect. I still hate the mechanics of the ending, but I actually liked the story.
My god though, the tears. I am looking so forward to playing Erik, I can't take any more heartache!

Despite various plans I always seem to end up playing similar characters.
I don't think Corypheus was quite at God status by the end of DAI. That's why he wanted to get into the fade, isn't it?
Power wise I don't think Cory is ever more than a powerful mage with access to Archdemon telefrag respawning*. He wants to be a god, but he's that's more to do with his megalomania than anything.
*And a Not-an-Archdemon, he has one of those.

I liked the vertical running battle design of the final fight. I think the difficulty was more due to the impossible out of hand player scaling present in Inquisition.

I've never played a mage in any RPG, purely because I'm crap!

I would say this time round it's that f****** Envy Demon.
Never had many problems in DAO though, I'm not sure why however.

i honestly don't care what Solas saw, keeping it real. i played the game. every time i think about Loghain i see that sneer after he tells Cauthrien to sound the retreat. i have no respect for that man and he is killed in each and every playthrough of Origins I have played sans two(trying to see other outcomes). on top of that, dude drips with misogny to a point that there literally is no redeeming quality about him to me. that's really not up for debate for me soooo Threnn will always get the same response from every Quiz.
I agree with most of this. Loghain probably isn't "evil" per se, and the novels do cast a slightly clearer picture of him. That said, his betrayal couldn't go unpunished or ignored. He was so obsessed with Orlesians that he almost ruined the country during the Blight. His little bit to Anora gave my heartstrings a slight tug, but the Warden always executed him. I did consider letting him live once, but I forgot to harden Alistair and wanted him to marry Anora and was a bit confused about whether he'd end up a wandering drunk or not, so I went ahead and executed him.
Asking myself a question now, though... Is my Warden killing Loghain but my Hawke sparing Anders hypocritical...? I headcanon that the Warden would have, too. Neither condone his actions, but understand the reasons why. Explanation/reason =/= excuse. But should one apply that logic to Loghain...? Hrm.
I agree with these...
Personally..I didnt read the book about him and never will..cose I hate him .
But I always came off to me , like the guy who wanted another shot at Glory . Cose the King wanted Glory...and he was lecturing him..(him who was supposedly a Legend...reasoning a youngest ? yeah right)...
Ya know the kind who goes 'None can save this country but me ! I was born to lead and I be damned if I let anyone do it' .

First impressions of PoE are rather good
Game loaded like a charm. Runs flawlessly. Really good score. Very impressed with the music and the art is better than I recall the beta being. Combat was also much improved and easier to follow from the beta. There are some sinister cultists up to no good and I'm wandering through a wilderness on my own. Created a "Godlike" so I am wandering around with an enormous fiery head. Ok I think I'll be playing this a lot this weekend!
You and Shinie...
He already sent me some info..and I'm waiting for more....about the Story..before I make a final decision . So play play play! ![]()

Er... By the time I'm at end game level I can destroy a bear in about three attacks. They are annoying early in the game, especially if paired with lyrium smuggler lurkers in the Hinterlands, but I never had one wipe my team...When the wildlife (goddamned bears) are harder to defeat than the final boss, you know your balance is off somewhere!
