Loghain to me is like Corypheus..
but better.. way more depth. Corypheus illustrates a man who lost his faith.
Loghain illustrates desperation and going into that blight alone. Much like the Warden. How their paths diverge is up to us.

But then there are also the two nightmares, and the end scene with the star gazers. It's just one kid in the beginning. I guess he kind of symbolizes earth and humanity for the rest of the game.
Then the Catalyst decides to use that against you. Or maybe to just make you feel comfortable.
God BioWare, stop trying to force tiny humans on me!

Of all things people love to complain about when it comes to Sera, perhaps the only one I would acknowledge as a real flaw is the fact that she breaks up with you (Dalish elf) if you disagree with her about your culture.
I never played the romance, but I like this. Wish there more ideological clashes like that. Sometimes Bioware pushes the whole "we must unite against a greater threat" thing too much.

Well I think the kid is supposed to be a symbol of all the innocents that Shepard can't save, and somehow (s)he has fixated on that moment on Earth, but I agree that it's very cheesily and annoyingly done...I think my biggest problem in ME3, y'all are going to think I'm so weird for this, is the kid motif. That's one way to look at it.
Everyone complains about how the Inquisitor kisses everyone's ass (which isn't true) but they don't like being challenged.

I think it comes down to how some people view games in general. Not just this one. Some like power fantasy, but I love drama. For better or worse.

I got a little sad by some voices of dead companions. Not the kid. It was pretty sad when the ship got shot in the beginning, but it didn't work after that.

As an aside, TV Tropes really will ruin your day folks.
It's usually worth it though.
I think I just play Snark Knights.

Yeah, dude... I was always hoping to get deeper into the political stuff. Would've been cool. All the potential is there at least.
Then the Reapers just made everyone hug in the end.
After watching the prequels again, even Star Wars does politics better. And that's mainly intended for kids.
