Derp, I just noticed the link to your page, nice artwork Kaiser.
Thanks! I'm lazily trying to work my way around making the entire group, but sloth gets the better of me.

Crossover art anyone?
Hello new Sera thread. I was wondering who it was best to romance her with. At the moment I'm trying to choose between a dwarven rogue or a qunari mage (who is also pretty pro-mage). Elf mage is what I wanted to romance her with, but she's out of the running. Too magey, too elfy, too busy getting some elven glory from Solas.

I can't imagine that she'd have that keen an awareness of what the Qun really is, unless she actually talked to a viddathari or a life-long follower beforehand. But anyway, her fascination seems purely on the physical side of things.
I agree. I don't really see an interest on the part of Sera in religion or culture. Her interest in the Qun seems to solely reside in the, uhm, physiology of their females.

Qunari. Definitely Qunari and secondly human. Best not to go with a mage.
Now having said that I did romance her with a Elf Mage and managed is successfully but it required much finesse and a white lie on my char's part. Good luck!
Best not to go with a mage.
I actually found it a bit more satisfying with the mage (this class is now my main for Inquisition). I liked her nervous dialogue and how you can attempt to reassure her when unlocking the spec (I only acquired KE so far), and at some point if you have Dorian in the party, he will comment on her being with a mage, and her getting defensive about how she's different. Overall I didn't gain any disapproval, but got more dialogue specific to the PC's class. She seems to be fairly neutral on the fact that the Inquisitor is a mage, unlike Fenris, who gets automatic rivalry no matter what you say.

Always go for a horny lady to impress Sera. Though she does like dwarves too. ![]()
Edit, yeah mage qunari is more interesting imo because it's something Sera likes and dislikes at the same time.
Kaiser is right, go for mage qunari.

Yes it made it more satisfying when you did get her approval but it depends on what you want: I wanted a challenge so I went elf mage. However if you want to roll comfortably with her it's probably best to rp a Qunari warrior with her just for ease. But it depends on what people are looking for I guess.
From what I understand she doesn't like the Champion spec, because chevaliers are d*cks lol
I do believe you have to advance the plot up to a certain point, in addition to exhausting the available dialog options, before she fully opens up to you.I'm trying to romance her with a human now, and I keep getting the let's get to know each other more bit. Wonder if I have to go through adamant first.
I'm weird and didn't like qunari/Sera at all, though I never technically finished it either.
I'm stubborn and romance her with elves xd
Yeah I wasn't really feeling it. It's cute that she gets gushy, but to be honest, I don't really care for the gushy parts, and it really has no benefit beyond a few lines. I guess it doesn't help that I don't really feel the Qunquisitor either.

I was getting that for a while too and I recall I did have to go to Adamant and the Fade bits before the options opened.
But also exhaust all the dialogue options you have and most importantly do every single Red Jenny quest on your map. All of them and do them asap.

Just make sure to lock the romance before the Winter palace for teh dance.
Exhaust all her dialogue options, do the fade mission and make sure you have the approval high enough.

Her response to a Rift Mage Inqusitor she has a friendly relationship with is pretty sweet. She seemed to dislike Lavellan's elfyness more than her being a mage (although allying with the mages cost me nearly all her approval.)
I'll go for a mage Qunari.

I actually initiated the romance before Adamant, which I always play before going to the Winter Palace. I guess it helps that I only did some basic stuff in the Hinterlands, then recruited her and Vivienne in one visit and then cleared the area out with her, which has a fair amount of approval boost opportunities.

I was wondering how she responds to the other specs.
As for allying with the mages, I did that, but I found that Greatly Disapproves is not nearly as big a penalty as I thought it would be, considering just how many opportunities exist throughout the game to make up for it. Choosing the "because it's right" option when taking the role of Inquisitor immediately cancels that one out.

What does give her approval in the Hinterlands? I have a really hard time getting her approval up (I've never had the cookie scene with my Lavellan) and the approval boosts I do get are always too small to cancel the massives losses I keep getting.

If I recall correctly... there's a cult in the hills, if you tell them to help the refugees then that makes Sera happy.

Off the top of my head, choosing the middle dialogue with Ritts when talking about her relationship with the apostate slain by Templars gets minor approval, using the underworld knowledge to recruit the smuggler in Redcliffe, returning the ring to the elven woman in the outskirts, convincing the elven mage cultist to return to his parents without having Solas speak on your behalf, telling the cultists to help refugees, recruiting the Irregulars as an agent after fulfilling the quests for the refugees (ram meat etc.). I think there may be more but I can't be certain. I'm pretty sure most if not all of these gain solid approval rather than just slightly, so compounded with the first flirt in Haven and approval for wanting to know more about her (as a female I presume) it should add up to a fair amount.
It's worth noting that on some maps, there are Red Jenny caches hidden in isolated areas that gain a slight approval boost if you find them. There's one that I know of in the Exalted Plains, and I think another in Crestwood. There might be one in the Hinterlands. There's so many damn chests there it's hard to be certain.

Flirting with Harding.

Besides the cult and the refugees I think she also gives approval for helping to feed the refugees (Ram hunt) and I think the Mage supplies quest also gives approval (blankets for the refugees). I am not sure but I think to trigger that approval she has to be in your party when you do it.
