I'm still peeved that nobody even commented on my entire clan being destroyed in Wycome. Seriously, is anyone going to mention that?

I remember hearing somewhere that they had a reaction to that planned, but it never made it in and made the whole thing seem really jarring. Even if none of the party comments on it, you'd think Lavellan themselves would...but they don't.

Poor Lav's life can completely suck but nobody cares. Everyone needs help with their problems instead. Such is her lot I suppose. :S

That was the most weird shite I've ever seen. Nobody cared about it, not even Lavellan, ffs.

The Inquisitor has to play therapist and life coach to everyone but when something personal happens to them everyone apparently forgets about you.  :crying:

I know right! Luckily I found a Sera/Lavellan fanfic that gave me the comfort Bioware was to busy to actually implement.

Just realized that Sera is the only companion that Approves when a dwarf Inquisitor picks "a dwarf will stand for us all" option in your In Your Heart Shall Burn. Not even Varric does that.

That girl sure does love her dwarves, even if she thinks their a little weird.

Dorian does! :) And he's also very positive about dwarves, I loved the convo wit him where he's like "we will defy expectations together!" since they have a different (more accepted) position in society in Tevinter than the south. But yeah, it made me smile that she approved there too.

I def woudln't have expected Varric to do that there though, haha.

It happened in DA:O, too. My Mahariel had to put down her ghoul-ified lifelong best friend right in the middle of the party camp just after he confessed love to her, and the only person to say anything is Alistair. Everyone else just walks off to their usual place in the camp and acts like nothing happened even though my Warden was probably traumatized right then.

I liked how Hawke's mum's death was handled, everyone comments on it, and everyone felt like a really tight-knit circle of friends there concerned for Hawke afterwards. Though, that was a mandatory plot point that happened to everyone unlike the other two, so I guess it's understandable there was much more for it.

Sera just loves her squishy cute dwarves.

Maybe Varric hates dwarfy dwarves?

My Brosca had to kill her best friend too, and no one said anything. Immediately afterwards Alistair, her LI started making fun of dwarves in his next banter, lmao. I was so mad.  Origins is def the worst offender on that front...although Inquisition has a lot of ???, the Clan Lavellan thing being the biggest one imo.

Like this Isabela/Hawke moment, when Hawke's mom dies. Seriously, i dont even remember a moment where your LI actually comforts you or hell, even a friend after all the heavy work the quizzy endures everyday.
Headcanons are good and all but it'd be nice to see that.

Cmon, the protag is allowed to have a breakdown moment and get some comfort. Grr. -_-

Edit, dear god ninjas everywhere.

Varric is like a very very light, more mellow version of Sera I think when it comes to dwarves. It's not as obvious or dramatic, but lmao, its there. ;)

Well, after you defeat the Grand Duchess there is the balcony scene where your LI does ask if you're alright.

That's something I suppose.

Oh yeah, Leske is just as bad.

I actually did think there were some good moments in Origins were the Warden can actually have a decent heart to heart with some of the companions. I remember there was one conversation with Wynne for instance where the Warden can basically confide in her that she's actually bloody terrified right now. It felt better than Inquisition on that front, anyway. But...acknowledgement of some of the horrible things that happened to the Warden in the origin-related stuff would have been nice.

Isabela's scene was pretty great. She has no idea what the hell she's supposed to say, but she makes the attempt anyway because she does care. Take notes, Inquisition companions. :S

Not gonna lie though, Aveline's scene was probably my favourite. Awwww.

Oh yes, true. Sera's scene was adorable. <3

Though still not much, compared to Lav losing her clan and nobody caring. :/

What boggles the mind is that not even Lavellan cares about the demise of her clan. Like, was it so hard to put a special dialogue option so you could mention it to someone?

They probably ate human babies and performed human sacrifices, so no harm done, right.

I'd argue it's the result of the last minute additions of the races

"Too busy making out with Sera. Can't waste time thinking about dead clan."

That's how I rationalized it anyway.

Can't Adaar get her entire merc company killed too? I managed to pull them through on mine with the exception of poor Ashaad One and Two, but I feel like there was some potential for a ****-up there as well.

Might not affect one as much as Lavellan's clan did, but surely she was close to some people in there. :S

It could be, yes. But if they made the effort of giving race specific dialogue when you are declared Inquisitor, they could have done something about a game where Lavellan loses their clan.

A player character who is actually a character seems to be one of the great challenges of RPGs.

I don't disagree, but I suspect that the War Table stuff was developed separately or something, because it basically doesn't interact with the plot on any level outside of very few specific instances.

You could be right, but then again, some of those War Table missions have tangible results in the game: doing the templar ones leads to Ser Barris being promoted to knight captain of the Inquisition templars, and there's a whole string of missions that deals with that adventuring/scouting party, people with whom you actually interact and see. Surely they could have done something for a "Lavellan's clan is dead" result.

I thought they did it with Hawke.
