Cassandra is basically my Inquisitor's equivalent of Alistair, who I also took everywhere in Origins.
Whereas for me, that's Varric. Again.

She's much cooler than him no doubt and no doubt dog would prefer her as well. ![]()
She's been my most used companion as well. Probably followed closely by Sera.

I'm kind of torn on Varric. I took him around a lot in earlier parts of the game, but after a while it became less frequent, and Sera became my go-to archer very quickly. Varric only comes with me now on missions involving Hawke and his personal quests, and of course it's him, Cass and Sera to face off with Corypheus in the end, since I imagine he'd want to see the sucker finally die for real this time. I guess my problem is that he just feels borrowed, and it doesn't have nearly the same dynamic between him and Hawke.

That's how I felt as well. Varric has become a little bitter in his banters lately. I miss DA2 Varric.

Yeah, I'd say that Cassandra is easily the superior companion in terms of character, but overall I liked the effect of having either be the knight that watches my PC's back, especially as one who only rolls rogues and mages.

Sera? Top lass, that'un.
Since we're contributing fan art I guess I'd just drop one of my own in here.
Just wanted to say this is lovely ![]()

Though i don't see Sera as bony. She certainly has more "meat" than the elf inquisitor or any other elf. Hell, she's taller than Lavellan.
And I so much love that aspect of the romance.
Ennnnnnh. I want to do her romance. It sounds so good but the rest of the game... I can't even be bothered to get to Skyhold.

That bad, huh? :/

I've tried twice now. I load it up. I run around for less than a minute and then realise I don't care, and just turn it off again. ![]()
Nice Sera though. Very nice. Love that armour. ![]()

What I do is get Sera asap, then grind the Hinterland, The Storm Coast and Fallow Mire which I really like (what can I say love it's linear nature) then the rest of the game turns into a regular DA game. It's just slogging through the first part.
I've tried. I get Sera first but it's not enough. The game just... I'm not interested in running through it all again. ![]()

This is pretty much what I do, but also because these areas are so close to Skyhold I can't really justify ignoring them for too long.

I have done this so many times that I know the areas and quests, try to do as many quests in the same area at the same time to save time and fast traveling to different areas really helps. It's getting to the point that I'm in a race with myself to finish the Hinterlands. It becomes a chess game to see how few moves I can make (not that I know how to play chess but I can head cannon that I do.
)
Yeah, that's what I do anyway. I can't do speed runs. Just not in my nature so I find ways to get so much done in as little time as possible.
To quote Keanu Reeves, "whoa"
Whoa

If only I (IRL) wasn't a guy, I would so be wanting to bed Sera.

I AM a guy IRL, and I'd totally go for Sera if she were real.
I mean, I'd get shot down since she's a lesbian, but I'd go for it if for no other reason than to hear her say "it means we both like girls". And after I get shot down, I'd move in for Cassandra.
Oh yeah...
