Seriously? You think that just because some gets older or taller the things they learned to be afraid of all their life just suddenly stops affecting them?

That's not really how fear works...

Oh, I know. Maybe I was unclear. I wasn't expecting her to immediately shed all of her fears; that was more of a somewhat independent observation about her character.

And by "little" I meant socially. She's no longer just a lower-class agitator; she's one of the vanguards of the Inquisition.

Sera will still bone her and make her cookies.

In that order?

It always goes in reverse for me xd

The whole qunari race is fearful of magic, the believers of the maker are fearful, so one young city Elf being fearful isn't that surprising, from my view.

True, but... my Hekati Adaar is also really into fiddling with magic, especially some of the darker varieties. It's why I named her that.

Really I don't think think that would bother her. She's afraid of the zappy weird stuff side of magic, technical dabbling would likely just go over her head.

To be fair, in a fight between Sera and an Ancient blood mage Tevinter magister with darkspawn powers, Sera is the one with A Thousand Cuts.

At least she can accept necromancy.

Speaking of which... how does a tempest archer work, mechanically? I somehow don't know if I've ever built her all that well.

I never really tried but I'm not that invested in the combat anyway. I believe it's supposed to be pretty amazing though, I think Duelist has posted some good write ups on it.

Over what?

Oh, nothing overly relevant, I assure you...

Re: the discussion on why Sera is so hated. I think there are a lot of factors and when you look at any one group there are different reasons (ie the ones I'm putting forth here don't necessarily work for the Sera hate squad on tumblr, just reflect what I've seen on the BSN) , but it imo the extremity of it  largely seems to come down to 1) she doesn't stroke your ego and 2)she doesn't stroke your ego while being female. ( Same goes to Viv, tbh.)

Hrm I may have more thoughts on this in a bit but I gotta run kiddo to school.

Who cares about the order of the two, if they both happen :D

(Plus, I think she does actually sleep with Inky before the cookie scene ever happens.)

Either way.

Pretty much!

Not always true. I get cookies before nookies.

I tend to draw out the romance a bit though.

Thing is, before the cookie scene, you get the "I've seen the looks" scene - if you accept the romance there, you can choose to do so two ways - Inky either says they'll "talk... and have fun... later" or "I'm inviting you up to my chambers."

Arianne... she had fun a little later. Lyna, she was a little faster to jump into bed...

You named a Lavellan Lyna too? Good to know I'm not the only one who just stuck the default Mahariel name on Lavellan out of laziness. I thought it was clever anyway. :S

Yeah! I was wondering how to name my Dalish Inquisitors... Then it struck me. I had a couple perfectly good names for them.

So, the first was inspired by Ariane (note the fact I did a typo in the name... oh well, different clan, differently remembers the spelling!) from Witch Hunt. That was Arianne, the Dalish Hunter with a bow (and later daggers). First to Keeper Istimaethoriel, however, is an elven lass by the name of Lyna!

Still not sure how I'll name my future third Elven lass, who's going to be a two-handed warrior... But that decision is months in the future. If not years. Personal reasons.

Reverse is 110% more romantic.

Eh... I kind of like the sex-then-cookies-then-sex pattern. Primarily because I see no actual reason to delay things when Sera first brings it up.

I went through Gaelic and Celtic names to find mine. I named her Aithne which means fiery, and I played her very feisty and quick to anger.

I just use names like Betty, Emma, and Edgie. That's Dalish sounding right?

I know this but it's possible to get the cookie scene before starting a relationship with Sera since it's up to the player to initialize the talk you are referring to.

I'm still proud of Tressa as the name of my Dalish mage. It's a Cornish name because Dalish names are usually vaguely Celtic sounding and Cornwall is the county of England with most Celtic heritage, and its own Celtic language. I used Alix Wilton-Regan as the voice so that seemed like a reasonable excuse for her to have an English accent. Finally it means "Third" so it kind of fit with DAI being the third game...

I'm awful with names, lmao. My dwarf is named Hella because I was joking that she was super problematic and my placeholder name for her was Hella Problematic Cadash. My first Lavellan was a joke because I thought it would be funny to make a super hot PC and call her the Sexy One and take a screenshot of it like ONLY THE SEXY ONE CAN DEFEAT THE ELDER ONE...then I ended up liking her a lot so I now call her Thesone. My other Lav is my monster Lav and I was so excited to make her that I forgot to think of a name and then panicked and called her Nug. Which fits but I DID plan on trying to come up with a less jokey name. Basically my approach to Inquisition seems to be "joke character that becomes really meaningful to me but I'm stuck with this dumb name and that's fine with me because I'm a child and it makes me laugh." I do have like two characters with less joke names and go figure, I'm less attached to them.
