But I didn't ignore it. In fact I addressed that exact point in my reasoning on the post-Mythal scene.
That's why I believe she says that. I think she says it not because her belief in Andraste is devout, but because she thinks that if that card falls, then maybe the whole house of cards that makes her views about the Dalish comes crashing down too. Devout belief is not necessary for that line to make sense, especially given all the other times when she clearly shows that she has many doubts about her religious convictions.
Anyway, we're clearly seeing the same things and coming to different conclusions here, and since we can't ask Sera for verification, I suggest that we leave it here, because these arguments are becoming circular.
In regard to religion in Thedas, I honestly believe EVERYBODY has it wrong. There may be some element of truth when it comes to Andraste, the Maker, elven gods, etc. But the different groups of people have diversified it and made it their own.
In a way, I compare it to religion in the real world; most religious camps believe in roughly the same thing, which slight differences.
As for the Maker, I've read somewhere that we'll never find out if the Maker is actually real or not. Could be wrong, though.
