I like the scene where she confesses she is afraid to lose you. It reveals how tender she is for you at that point and I love the Tigger pounce you get from her once her fears are calmed.

That scene is absolutely the best thing because of how Sera being so hurt and upset about the dream that she doesn't realise she's admitting that she loves the Inquisitor.

Eventually those file names will just become part of your normal vocabulary.

"One thing lead to another and well, Skyhold 55:12"

"Shaka, at the Emerald Graves 37:13."

The confession scene is one of my favorite scenes in the entire game. It shows that she really cares about Quizzy. I like that she looks like she is about to yell at Quizzy again after she tells Sera she loves her. But then her eyes go wide for a split second, then she pounces on her. Its like shes thinking 'holy crap, she is serious, she loves me too.' It's so cute.

So, I've been thinking of ways to get Sera's approval to be at least neutral.

But look at this: Allied with mages, exiled wardens, Briala in power behind Gaspard, going to drink from the Well of Sorrows and certainly be "elfy" after returning from the temple (Dalish Inquisitor).

Maybe I should accept this isn't the playthrough to be friends with Sera.

I need to romance Sera again. It along with Cass's were the best so far! So many feels and cute scenes!

It happens. After two playthroughs were I was on good terms with her Viv hates my Quiz's guts this time around and she fired the first shots too. Another time Viv, darling.

Ngl, naming saves would have been very useful.... i had one precious save i decided to keep and it was before locking Sera's romance (i love doing her romance scenes ok) and i accidentaly deleted it,. Fuuuuuuuuuuuu.

Srsly. WHY did y'all remove the save naming. D:

because Consoles..... seriously, we can't on PC because consoles can't name saves.

If you are playing on PC, I can help you instantly have full approval! 194298.gif
If you are on a console, sorry, Sera isn't going to be your friend this round, you are doing all the stuff she hates.

Ehrm, I'm fairly sure that DA:O had savegames that could be renamed on pc and couldn't on consoles.

This is not Origins, and this is a different engine. Inquisition was first and foremost made for the console market, PC second. It's a matter of saving $$ to just have one standard way of saving across the board, not having a separate code base just for PC users.

Ok then. My bad.

Of all the things to make a complaint about, the name of save files is not one I have yet seen. Points for originality, I guess.

Well, unlike many complaints, it's one that shouldn't actually be that hard to fix...

It actually would be.... see my comment above. They aren't going to maintain a completely separate code base just for PC to allow us to name saves. I really wish they would have a separate code base, they could support modding if they did. Ah well, nice to dream I suppose.

Well, I think I've managed to work out most of my anger about Sera, and am successfully romancing her as a qunari and enjoying it... my new main problem is that I just can't think of much for us to do together. Granted, my qunari is my character who's least like me, but I can't imagine my rather more reserved elf or human PCs finding a whole lot in common with her.

Additionally, since the tone of Josephine's romance really seems tilted towards being human in the way it's written, I still don't know what the heck I'm supposed to do with the elf.

This really shouldn't be a problem.

If for some reason you can't name save files on consoles then you could still save the name as text in the file - same as the game is already storing your character's name. Switching to Frostbite shouldn't magically break something as mundane as writing and reading a string.

Its more about how you enter the string into the front end. It would take modifying the current save routine, which would require code, art, and a UI edit, which would not work on a console since entering a string would require a keyboard (not present on 99.99999% of consoles). Once modified, they would need to maintain a separate branch of code to support this PC only feature. Good luck with that one.

Is it or are you assuming that it is?

I didn't work on DA:I so I'm also assuming but: DA:I already can read text from console users for naming characters and items. The save game system was likely extensively modified from whatever Frostbite had to  begin with (if there was anything at all) because all games have unique needs as restoring saved content goes. The engine likely has a simple way of checking what platform it is running on (I know Unity does) and could use that to simply not give console users any text prompt if you really wanted that as an option.

To be fair, you would have to translate any additional text that appeared on the UI window.

I'm inclined to think it simply wasn't prioritised by whoever designed the system. I simply name save games A, B, C etc when required, I suspect most people don't feel a strong desire to give them proper names. Yeah, there could be a whole stack of reasons relating to consoles for it being the way it is, but in the absence of any being sourced I suspect it was just an omission.

My point was that it should be an easier complaint to deal with than many others that I've seen. I might be underestimating the amount of change to the code that would be necessary, but I'm pretty sure that addressing that issue would still involve less work than updating, for example, the post-Mythal break up scene. You have some adjustments to the UX code vs re-writes to the script, organising recording of all the new dialogue and changing the cinematics...

I think that you shouldn't have too much to worry about finding things to do with Sera Xil, just bring her along in the party when you want and enjoy the cutscences when you chat with her and the romance will take care of itself. Glad you found a way to enjoy Sera!! :-) Curious about something, I haven't tried to romance Josie so how does her romance feel tilted towards a human PC over other races in your opinion?

I don't see why consoles can't, we have on screen keyboards, well at least the consoles I have do but I know nothing about game design, so there's that. :)

It feels very... human society-ish, given some hints in the dialogue and the duel itself, which seems like a distinctly human narrative.

Truth be told, I think it's the inclusion of Josephine being a female romance option that keeps it from necessarily being outright sexist. Does being a female Inquisitor work less well with Josephine somehow?

Theres no difference between male or female with Josie, all the lines are delivered just the same, the duel, ect, all developed with a male Quizzy in mind, then seemingly female Quizzy added after.

Josie was the first romance I did, and while it was sweet at times, the whole thing felt a bit off because of not being written with a female Quizzy in mind at all.

I haven't played the romance but I'm having trouble getting my head around the idea of a society where a man would be totally okay with dueling someone over a woman's hand in marriage but completely indifferent to their opponent also being a woman.
