Interesting debate going on here. Mind if I cut in.
I think the problem with Jose's romance when it comes to her being in a relationship with a female Inky is the fact that the game never acknowledges the that if Josie does plan on continuing this love affair then there's going to be serious problems with her fulfilling her familial duties. As the future head of her household she's obviously going to be expected to have children of her own to continue the family line. The romance arc never mentions this and it feels weird that it doesn't since Dorian's factors this in a big way with his gripe about being forced to marry a women he cannot love and have he cannot conceive. I suppose Josie could avoid that problem by adopting a child and choosing them as their heir or by resigning as heir apparent and giving that title to one of her incompetent siblings, but once again the romance doesn't bring this up at all, leaving us to suspect that the writer for Josephine didn't even take into account that this would be an obvious issue for a bisexual Josephine.
The adoption possibility is something that I especially wish could have been brought up since it would help in explaining how countries like Orlais and Antiva are totally fine with the nobility being in homosexual relationships even through they can't produce biological children to continue the family line.
Also, since Josie seems to be the companion most likely interested in formally marrying the Inquisitor in a Andrastian manner, it would have also given Bioware the opportunity to finally put their foot down and state whether gay marriage is a thing in Thedas. I've been getting real tried of them ***** footing around that issue.
Oh well, I know you can't you use so much game resources into fleshing out a romance in an action RPG but I do wish more could of been done to differentiate a female and male's romance with Josie.
