I belief she does mention being called a flat-ear by some Dalish when she failed to understand their beliefs. I haven't been able to find that dialogue myself through so it might not exist.

Yes of course even Solas experience that, I was talking more about constant and casual bigotry. It is a little improbable that the Dalish would be a factor on her life, it seem she would deal with humans a lot more from her dialogue.
Which bring me to the city elves, I never saw her talking much about that unless it touches old beliefs of community. Not sure but sometimes it seems Sera dislike even that because it can be connected with dalish culture and pride.

It's not closemindedness to doubt that the Temple of Mythal was populated solely by demons, especially since none of them act or seem like demons.

There have been a multitude of encounters with demons by that point in the game, and none of them have given Sera a reason to doubt what the Chant teaches about them. So again, if you're going to call Sera closeminded for refusing to abandon her beliefs the same thing applies to a Dalish Inky who refuses to abandon hers.

Do you mean the sexual ones? I don't think that you'd ever get her to be fully monogamous even in a committed relationship with Hawke. It just doesn't strike me as her style not to want to have casual sex for fun. It's been a while since I played her romance, though, and I don't remember all the details. Do you actually get to discuss such things with her?

My headcanon for her and Hawke was that they wound up as a stable triad with Merrill.

I think this is more speculative than anything, Sera almost never talks about her experience or the past really. If anything, her adopting mother(that is human) was the racist example on her life, should her experiences with humans be a lot worse than?

The Dalish racism toward City elves has been an established part of the setting since Origins, and dialogue like this exchange between her and Solas make it clear that her experience with other elves has not been good:

Solas: You are different. You are the furthest from what you were meant to be.

Sera: Well I've definitely heard ****** like this before.

I kind of get annoyed at Solas for trying to make Sera into something she is not. Most of their banter is him trying to convince her that she is 'Elfy.' If she is romanced by a Dalish Quizzy, he implies that Sera is only with her because she is an elf. He tries to use their relationship to prove that she likes elves and wants to be more elfy. I do like her response though. She basically says 'I like her for her, not because she is Elfy.' Most of their banter about elves lead to her being pissed off at him or her purposely being rude to make him stop talking.

Solas handles her very clumsily. We all know Solas does not approve of the Dalish himself. But he doesn't try a softer touch with Sera. If Solas made the approach from sympathizing with how she feels the Dalish treat her and suggesting they are ignorant she might open more to him telling her about real elven things. But his approach is really condescending and of course she tells him what he can do with his vast knowledge of the elves or where he can shove it.

Catching up's a hard business sometimes...

Yay, Uncle's back...

I agree with Solas being a jerk about things unnecessarily...

By the Creators, Xil's being hate-y again...

That's it, I'm going to pass out now.

I only got bits and pieces of banter, but I always assumed that most of the elves Sera found were "too elfy" were City Elves. They'd be the ones that her profession would take her to meet most often. She also says "most elves" are too elfy. Most elves are city elves, and even if they weren't they probably still make up a large part of the elves she meets. Basically I thought she was on the opposite extreme of the ancient elves in terms of "elveness."

Essentially she's "the flattest of the flat ears." Or at least I imagine that's a title she'd enjoy being called.

You're talking about two completely different things. It doesn't require a Dalish Inquisitor to still hold to believing in the Creators as gods for them to consider them something that isn't demons.

True, and what's worse is that I can't do, well, that as a Dalish Inquisitor.

At this point it's a lost cause.

However I did finish my third campaign this past Sunday. I was rp'ing a Dalish Mage. Very elfy elf. I got that confrontation with her after Mythal where she insisted it was all lies and rubbish. I told her I believed it.

This brought about her telling me I'd be the Inquisitor saying the stupidest things.

I selected the dialogue option "Seems to work for you." Surprisingly this got approval and her to calm down. I don't think this works with her if you're her lover but it's nice to know I could hit back a bit as her non-li Dalish quiz.

So I think I'm going to boot up DA:I tonight for the first time in months. I'll finish my dwarf playthrough which should only take an hour or two, and then move on to romancing Sera. <3

After the Sera romance I'm excited to create Cillian, a dalish elf who denounces all his dalish beliefs, converts to Andrasteism and falls for Cassandra. I hope he and Sera become fast friends. (I may change his name to Iolan, meaning: one who worships a different god")

I am sure they will. I romanced her with an Andrastean elf so I think that works. I was also able to keep on her good side as a Dalish believer. You might have to finesse some things but it works. Sera's been pretty easy to get along with generally.

Even as an overtly Elfy Elf I ended on good terms with Sera with Aithne. So her and Cillian/Iolan should get along smashingly.

What type of character are you going to romance Sera with? I have tried all the races, but elf is still my favorite. I like having multiple playthroughs going at once. If I get fed up with playing a warrior on Nightmare, I swap to my Bada$$ Knight Enchanter and kick everyones butt.

Qunari mage. Inkeri is an ice queen who hates everyone. Lol. Sera is the one person who can melt Inkeri's heart.

That's cute. I am playing a kind of ice queen playthrough too. I am doing an 'Evil Choices' playthrough while romancing Sera. She is also an angry, bitter mage (she is a human necromancer.) My head canon is that Sera brings out her good side. Some of the choices I have made have been rough though.

Aw, good romance choices. <3

For me, Inkeri isn't angry or vengeful. She's just a loner who has no interest in people. The only reason she's taking the inquisotr role is because "Well, I guess the world is hopelessly fucked unless I close these rifts, and I'm not ready to die yet. *sigh* Incompetent fuckers."

No, I'm really not. The Chant teaches that there are no gods other than the Maker, and the Blights are caused by the so-called "Old Gods" possessing the bodies of dragons, so there's been at least five precedents set that Sera would know of for Mythal and the other gods to actually be demons rather than gods.

If a devout Dalish Inky refuses to budge about the Elven gods being actual gods, she's forcing Sera to choose between everything she knows and has been taught and the woman she loves. So like I said, if Sera is being closedminded, a devout Dalish Inky who forces the matter is too.

I find it really hard to be 100% evil. It breaks my heart to be really mean to my followers. Some of the dialogue choices are quite harsh. Like "I don't care about you or your feelings" kind of harsh. I can't even be mean to fictional characters. That is probably a good thing.

You mean "You're lucky to have one who welcomes you. I have a friend who... Never mind."? That's pretty vague, especially without context from the rest of the conversation.

Wait, izzy says that? Still calls Hawke her 'friend'? Why not lover? -_-

I mean i could see their relationship as open one, but in the end coming back to each other's arms and still being in love with each other. Urghhhh.

Jfc bioware. At least i know Sera is 100% faithful and doesn't like sharing. My Adaar is one lucky lady.

But my Hawke.... poor thing. Must pain her a bit to share Izzy with some dudes or dudettes.

The ironic part is that she's Not that keen on Hawke having other relationships.

And that's why i went WTF with that line and Hawke's. Plus, it just blows everything about what Izzy has said in the scene where she admits to Hawke that she loves her.

Source on the fact that it's Chantry doctrine for the Old Gods to be demons.

He comes off as very patronizing and 'high and mighty' - a type i despise irl and i totally feel Sera. If i had a dude like him telling me to start believing in the Christianity because all Greeks do it and all that shite, i'd insult him.

As you very well said, he could just approach her with a different way, try to understand her (tho he did admitted that he envies her, so)

I know what you mean. I made that tevinter mage idiot tranquil and I thought it was quite fitting since he is not afraid to die. He was quite scared of "losing himself" and I thought it was great because he is such a jerk. And I don't really mind disagreeing with Solas about spirits. It makes sense for my mage who grew up in the circle to be afraid of spirits and think of them like demons. I couldn't bring myself to banish Blackwall with other the wardens. He is my bro and also the best tank in the game.

I have to think over some of these before I figure out what Inkeri actually feels about it. I think she'll be civil to Solas and the rest of her team, and I don't think she has any real problem with slavery, so her and Dorian should be okay.

Judgements will be tricky for me though, for sure. She may banish Blackwall just for being part of what she would think is incompetency.

What type of evil choices are in this game besides just saying mean stuff to followers?

I really don't know as I've only played nice and stuff.

Also, in this pt, would you do most of the quests (like in the Hinterlands) where you help people?  Or, do you skip them and tell people to find their own damn Dalish promise rings?
