Im glad the bullying in DA:I doesn't reach Merrill style lvl's, i stopped having Merrill, Anders & Fenris in the same party cos it annoyed me so much that Hawke wouldn't say a word about it

  

That is why I don't bring Vivienne anywhere and don't pair up Blackwall/Dorian or Solas/Sera. Blackwall is pretty harsh to Dorian about the Tevinter mage thing and Solas and Sera's banter just annoys me. Stop trying to change my Sera, Solas!

I didn't Mind much in DAI, since it was never One-sided. And there wasn't the feeling of Two companions ganging up on the there like in DA2 .

It's not as bad as in DA2 but it still bugs me when they insult your LI. Especially after the romance quest when it's "official" and everyone knows. Like if you romance Sera and are a mage, she mentions that Inky is different when she is griping about mages to Solas. Why can't they tone down insulting your LI, when they know about your romance?

I just want to throw this out here. I was reading reviews for the movie "Pitch Perfect 2" and I remembered Rebel Wilson and started thinking that  Sera reminded me in some ways of Rebel Wilosn. 

 

 

 

Some obvious differences in physique, Stiill they have similiar eyes, eyebrows. mouth., bangs (hair)  Sera's nose seems to be broken and her bridge seems wider. They both have almost child-like voices. Use a fair ammount of  vulgar language, but also have this air of naivety or have certain child like qualities.

 

Just interesting, wonder what people think. I should point out I am not a fan of Pitch Perfect, seems fun but not really my type of moivie, not into BBWs, not that big a fan of Rebel.

I actually enjoy a lot of Sera's dialogue with Solas, especially when Solas is getting upset.

 

I always cite this one because it made me laugh:

Sera: I bet, right? Who wants to think about stepping on dead elves.

Frankly, Sera always kind of struck me as being the cruel one in all that sort of dialogue with Solas. At least the ones that I heard. She shows a contempt for elves that far outweighs any he showed her.

I get why she gets so annoyed with him. He keeps trying to talk to her about elves and the dalish, even though he know that she doesn't care about that kind of stuff. The banter where he speaks elven to her and says something about her possibly feeling the flow of the language is pretty insulting. Its like me speaking Spanish to someone of Latin descent and expecting them to know what I am talking about. I would probably react the same way she did.

I think it's too short-sighted to dismiss the Solas/Sera relationship as simple hate/dislike. Because it isn't actually. If you keep bringing them along together, they will get a lot more friendly and respectful (as much as Sera is willing to show respect in general). Solas acknowledges her strong will and her readiness to act where others (including himself) only talk. He even admits to be jealous of her motivation and determination. It's not mindless bashing, it's rather like checking foreign territory and overcoming differences in the end. They are not the typical friendly banter people, but they are equals and I actually enjoy listening to this; because Solas hardly ever acknowledges others and Sera gets a sort of respect no other NPC gets from him.

Yeah if you keep taking them out together they do seem to get to a point where they are getting along reasonably. Honestly the only companion she never relates to and who does not relate to her is Viv.

Indeed, I found the dynamic between Sera and Solas got even down right friendly towards the last 20% of the narrative. My mage Lavellan play through, I kept my group as Sera/Solas/Bull, I've heard some really good banter between these 3, much better than with other companions.

The scene is more complicated than just that. She is scared that Quizzy will leave her because she isn't elfy. It's an irrational fear, but she believes it could happen. She just wants Inky to tell her that it is all lies even if she doesn't believe it. I think that by telling her it is all lies, Sera believes that it means she is more important to Quizzy than her faith.

It is worse if you are an elf too. It's like he is disappointed that you would even think about dating Sera. In my headcanon, I like to think that he is jealous because my Quizzy doesn't want his elf junk

The Quiz is an awfully passive head honcho in this game which is very unfortunate. You're always reacting to things instead of making others do so. I'd like to see this corrected next time. It's like you're playing a heavily armored/powered wuss.
