The day that Thedas has giant wasps is the day i'll end up having ****** cazador flashbacks from Fallout:New Vegas. *shudders*

Giant spiders are pushovers and yet, it seems that the Inquisitor is scared shitless of spiders.

Sera: So, mister lordy wolly pants is afraid of spiders.

Inquisitor: I am not. It's just that i'm not fond of them.

Sera: Don't deny it, Inky. It means you're people people instead of this big butt that sits in the tiny throne, that uses a giant table to boss people around to fight demons and ****.

Inquisitor:I fear no spiders.

Later that night

Inquisitor feels some spiders crawling over him and open's his eyes. He screams like a little girl.

Sera: Told ya so.

I like it :-) But then I like your Isileth/Sera stories, your a good writer.

It was perfect. =^.^=

Thank you  ^_^  Again, it was another chance get to "reply" to things you can't respond to in the game, and put the characters into a new and unexpected situation.

I wasn't entirely certain about the "uncharacteristically quiet Sera" moments but I often find these things write themselves... and that was just how it turned out!

Being neither a woman nor a lesbian, I did not want to leave a comment on this article which I found through Tumblr, although I might have written an essay. Does anyone here have anything to say? I haven't seen Orchid about in a while...

http://femhype.com/2...-in-dragon-age/

This was exactly how I felt when I first interacted with the character. I come to the conclusion that maybe I was too harsh because it is the only representation in the companion, that we got in DA.

Not all characters need to be "perfect" even if they touch minorities. Overall I still agree with the article but at the moment only this part...

"You can’t engage Sera in a discussion about why her snide comments are completely inappropriate like you can when Dorian asserts to a Dalish Inquisitor that slavery isn’t really that bad. At least in that instance, you have the option of engaging the problematic behavior to explore where the character is coming from and how they might, in fact, be saying hurtful things."

Funny enough playing Life Is Strange got me thinking that maybe what Sera needed to be more enjoyable to me, was actually only more options and ways to respond to her sometimes childish notions.

In what way did playing Life is Strange lead you to thinking that?

I do agree the Inquisitor's writing is lackluster in many cases, though this is mostly a non-issue when talking to Sera as far as I'm concerned (sans the post-Mythal conversation).

Because Chloe has some share qualities with Sera but in that case Max can call her up on the **** she does, even if she likes her. That made me enjoy Chloe has a character more, of course it helps to know about her past too and motivations.

I don't think that such problems are unique to Sera though. A couple of examples off the top of my head: There's basically nothing you can do if Vivienne moves your furniture around, and Sera's romance quest there's no come back when Solas says "she's no more an elf than I am a horse."

I've said before that I'd happily have sacrificed a couple of the maps if those resources had been spent on deepening some of the companion conversations.

I figured that's what you meant.

I personally feel the writing in LiS is way, way more organic than anything in DA:I, though I understand the various fundamental differences between the two games mean one is going to be better than the other in some aspects and vice versa.

BioWare Protagonist is generally a bit passive. Outside of Major Decisions, stuff happens and you can go along with it or stop going along with it (sometimes) if you're really lucky you can go along with it while being snarky.

I think it comes to a head with Sera because she's a bit...  abrasive. That you can't push her back as hard as she pushes you is more obvious.

In the case of Vivienne you can call her on that too with "stop being so petty!" and "enough manipulation" that is my problem with Sera, sometimes is frustrating that you cannot say anything unless it is neutral or approving.

I miss DA 2 system.

I enjoyed DAI a lot, but I do think that they reacted so strongly to criticisms of the scope and copy-pasted environments of DA2 that they ended up going too far in the opposite direction; they made it so big in scope that there is detail missing when you get in close.

Pretty much. Which is why the game feels so experimental.

I think the big scope could have been fine if it was used to support a story with big scope, rather than be a big world full of Assassin's Creed content design.

- You can tell Sera that Verichel was her fault.

- You can tell her that holding a grudge against a dead women is stupid.

- You can yell at her about having an awkward heart to heart on a roof top is stupid and childish.

- You can tell her that pulling pranks on the advisers is childish.

- You can also yell at about being a coward when your romance gets serious and she tries to run away because she had a bad dream.

- You can tell her that she gets your nerves a lot in the romance.

- You can call her organization a petty group of criminals.

- You can tell that her doesn't know how to plan things out or think things through.

- And you can flat out call her stupid near the end of the game. Which she will approve of.

You can totally call her on her bull. A lot.

Also true. This was a design flaw at heart, one that could have been mitigated by the story rather easily. As it turns out, the story was narrow in scope and the world much bigger than necessary.

Don't know about you, but I could be fine with the Exalted Plains and the Storm Coast  being taken out of the game if it gave us a tighter, more story-focused style of gameplay. The open area's are pretty and all, but the lack of a central narrative in either of those zones make them annoying to play through.
