Y'know, I always wondered why she "scratches" things out.
She's either tried it, done it, or passed and tried the next thing on the list.

It's like a to-do list. When she's done something (or fails to!) she scrawls a line through it and writes what comes next.Y'know, I always wondered why she "scratches" things out.
Oh! Been a long time since I got to use my ninja emote!

Hey guys, A new chapter of my fanfic, Good Cookies is up on AO3.

Hee hee! Her Cabinet/diary/thingy is fun even when you're not romancing her!
I like how reactive this journal is. It seems like it changes based on your Inquisitor's stance on religion, since my more agnostic Inquisitor gets references to a book she reads, but not religious in nature.

Yay another chapter! Thanks Verse
Indeed. Much YAY has been had. Wicked.

I think when she scratches something out, it means she tried it but gave up for some reason. If she actually managed to do it, she leaves it unscratched.

Yes it's great. As well as the obvious changes based on race and sex, it reacts to what you do and say in the game, too. I guess it reads the same flags that they use to give you different dialogue choices.

Actually, the following entries say otherwise.
-That book she reads. Why's it so good? Sooooo long. (Scratched out)
-Stupid book. Didn't cry.
-Bit of her hair. Weave into bracelet with beads!
-Get Beads (Scratched out).
-Get book. Learn to weave (Scratched out).
-Pay to get weaving done (Scratched out).
-Wear it every day.
-Saving the world soon. Weird. I will kick Coryphy-t it in every ball he has. (Scratched out)
(lol at BSN censoring t i t)
Fair enough... So then what does it mean when she doesn't scratch something out? That she's neither finished nor given up?Actually, the following entries say otherwise.

Seems that way.
Some of the single line items don't really need crossed out when done, I would think.

I like to think that she is a little proud of herself for completing some of her goals, so she doesn't cross them out. She crosses out the steps it takes to meet her goal, but leaves the item itself to remind herself that she did a good job. Some of the single line items don't really need crossed out when done, I would think.

I've been thinking about this (probably more than I should have!
) and I reckon you could say that the scratched out stuff means "done with".
It's stuff that she doesn't want or need to return to. so it can be stuff she tried but abandoned, but also stuff that she finished but doesn't want to or isn't going to do again (like reading the book that made her cry or killing Corypheus.) Finally it can be completed stages on the way to something like making the hair bracelet. In all cases it's stuff she's done with and isn't going to be doing again any time soon if she can help it.
Just a thought- poor Sera. She gets mocked for being afraid of demons, mages and the like and yet... As she points out, she's been told to be afraid of these things by the chantry for her ENTIRE life. Hard to see her as superstitious for being scared of things that, basically, her entire ideological belief structure has told her to fear. Not sure how religious Sera is, to be honest, but she was raised human and Andrastean (as far as I can tell) so I think her trepidation is kind of understandable.
Hey guys. I just noticed something interesting while checking out Sera's room. She has a lizard. You can kind of see it in the top corner on top of the bookcase.

Found a better pic:

Has anyone else noticed this?

Well, it IS on her list in her journal.
I wonder if everything else is somewhere in there as well.

I think she got the lizard because she thought it would be cool, got bored of it, now it just hangs around, staring at her. Lol.
I will have to check later but I am pretty sure the other stuff is in there somewhere. It can be like a game. Searching for random stuff in a cluttered room, fun times. ![]()
Likely not, she wears it every day!
Sera also has a copy of Varric's Hard in Hightown in her room.
Check this video at 7:00.
That explains why the Inquisitor had a lizard in his pants the other day and no, it's not a chat up line Oghren somehow passed to him. Sera's lizard simply slept in the Inquisitor's pants and the Inky didn't bother to check. Oh, what an amusing situation during a serious judgement.
